Now Bobby was a sadistic little creep, and the previous
occupant of the mouse cage had been a mouse once
named Ralph.
Who knows if Ralph had ever been human
but one day Ralph had bitten Bobby's finger while Bobby was dressing him up in a Barbie dress.
Bobby's eyes had gone cold as he nursed his sore finger,
and he'd taken the mousee cage with a frantically squeaking Ralph in it,
into the basement where Miss Kitty the family's 20 pound pet cat hunh out.
Bobby openned the cage door, left the basement and
whatever happened between Ralph and Miss Kitty
wasn't Bobby's concern anymore.
Now the maiden name of Bobby's mother Fiona
was DrakkenFyre, and yes, she'd been named after her mothers
sister ,Fiona Ira DrakkenFyre.
So though she wasn't part of the TF machine makers community like her
cousins were, she knewAunt Fiona was up north
somewhers due to the bi-weekly newspaper Chronivac Chronicler
that she got.
So Bobby's mother had some idea that his pet mouse
might actually be a transformed human.
However, just like most others in the TF Machine Makers
crowd,Fiona figured anybody foolish enough to risk loss of
limb or eye,or worse
really aught to be left to their
own fate.
Having worked the Chronivac Corporation assembly line shifts as a
teenager,Bobbys mother had the 'sentience bomb' in her DNA.
So the mother wasn't going to do anything that could trip off the bad
DNA she had to live with.
Bobby needed a mother.
So Nathan needn't look to Bobby's mother for rescue.
So it was only when Nathan bit Bobby's
finger ,hoping that Bobby would the little rodent, who would then
scurry away,that
Nathan found a cold eyed Bobby carrying him in his cage to meet Miss Kitty.
But the time Bobby got around to telling his mother that
he wanted a new pet,Miss Kitty had already started swallowing the rodent
and only Nathan's hind end and rear legs and frantically wiggling
tail were visible .
Fiona clapped her hands and said
"Here Miss Kitty, have a nice saucer of warm milk"
but the cat wanted a mouse to eat/play with
and so dashed away from Bobby's mother.....
Now to be blunt Fiona the Younger didn't know Natha
personally and like most TF Machine maker folk, felt
no personal need to provide the unknown transformed
human with rescue.
She got up,smacked her hands together and got ready to march up and let
the cat do what she liked.
However, since that would have ended this plot rather quickly and gruesomely for Nathan,\at that point one of the relatives buzzed Bobby's mother
on her cell phone.
They chatted away for five minutes about the other relatives
before Aunt Sue Nakita DrakkenFyre got to the
point of the phone call.
Fiona DrrakkenFyre,was offering some money,transportation
and accomadation for any of her relatives who would would bring her
a transformed human animal Scientist DrakkenFyre needed to get a long lost
and presummed destroyed TF Machine going again.
The DrakkenFyre clan, knowing that Bobby and his mother
needed the money, had all stayed out of a potential
vacation so that
Fiona and her son could get out and see the world and have some fun.
Nathan was worth $0.00
The mouse on the other hand, was worth $15,000.00
to Aunt Fiona.
So,in short order Bobby's mother dashed downstairs again and
found the big cat getting unfortable, now
that the unconscious mouse was blocking her
airway.
Miss Kitty was going 'blue in the face'
and looked up at her mistress with pleading eyes, only Nathans stilled tail
still sticking
out of her jaws.
So Bobbys mother gently tugged on the tail of the apparently
dead mouse while she gently scratched behind the cats ears to
relieve Miss Kitty from her
discomfort.
Finally she had the mouse of of the now
purring cat .
She found a bit of tubing from a aquarium and gave 'blue faced' Nathan some
air-to-air.
Luckily his heart had still been beating when he'd
stopped breathing,so in about 5 minutes Nathan woke up
to discover that the nightmare he'd had about being a mouse that
got eaten by a cat
was no nightmare,.
And so in about three days the bush plane carrying Boby,Fiona the Younger and a caged and shivering mouse landed
at theRoss Bay landing strip.
The locals waved and the teams of Eskimo taxi drivers
mushed their huskies to be the one to get the fare for their sled....
