So Nathan and Bruce got into the other room ,Bruce's old bedroom.
Nathan frantically was looking for a Chronivac 4.0.and couldn't see one.
All he saw was a room filled to the brim with what looked like
6 foot tall fridges and a lot of 1950s and 1960s era tube tv's and home-made scientific equipment,such as lasers
spinning wood cabinetted phonographs and buried off in one
corner a telepype printer from the late 1950s.
Apparently decades earlier Bruce had been somewhat of the teen science fair genius.
Nathan the mouse asked the snake just how many decades ago they were talking here.
Half a century.
1966.
And as the snake started babbling about complex string theory physics that would have made
Stephen Hawking proud,the mouse realized
he was staring at the Holy Grail/Philosphers Stone/Grandmother of all
Chronivac's here.
The prototype TF machine that gave rise to all the Chronivacs.
Bruce was a bit ticked off at Nathan expressed his notions,
"Mother" wasn't just the prototype of Chronivacs.
It was the actual transformative heart of the entire Chronivac world.
The devices Nathan and the others played with were nothing
more then glorified keyboards and view screens,that sent their
requests to this machine,which did the actual
tf'g work.
A thought occured to the mouse.
This thing was tube driven,using tubes 50 years old.
What happened if one of its vacuum tubes blew?
Wouldn't that mean everybody would be stuck in their
transformed state till they died or the blown vacuum tube could be replaced?
Bruce didn't answer that,but just turned his head and quietly hissed in reply.
A cold chill siezed the mouses heart as he realized the danger was not
Myron,but that this antique from the pre-Mercury space flight
era could break down at any time,leaving him and countless others
stuck in these forms forever.
