Colleen thought about her recent changes. The change that made her Jane, for example, was very complicated to word, so it could have had a totally different effect if she had changed a single word! Colleen considered other people that, in the myths, could change the world to their will. She decided that she really liked the idea of wishing, which was much less complicated than asking.
"Every time I wish something, does it come true?" she asked. She felt a tingle run through her body, which she guessed was the new power. She decided to test it out. "I wish my bed was green." It immediately was.
Then Colleen realized that there was no magic that made changes seem like reality for the wishing power, so she said, "I wish that every time I wish something, it will seem like reality to everyone but me."
Then, as a final fail proof that she might need for school when she asked a question, she said, "I wish that my original power of asking no longer exists." No need for her to ask something accidental and suddenly have it be the truth, she thought.
Colleen, now happy, looked outside. There, walking along the sidewalk, was Colleen's friendly neighbor. Colleen considered changing her, but she also wanted to change herself! Who would she change?
