( So,since the original thread originated in 2004 I'm going to assume
Sally and Carl and Lewis are in 2004)
Carl certainly wasn't too concerned about Sally popping up.
It seemed the owners of "The Magic Shop" had gone AWOL and Carl had been hired by the Mall's owners, the DARGONS and the Draecena
to keep an eye on the place.
Since both the DARGONS and the Draecena were aliens, you
can be sure Carl was mighty talkative about his new employers.

Now as we all know the spectacular but ultimately unimportant news item of 1990/1991,Saddam lobbing about his Scud missiles at his neighbours
had proven to be the news story of the ages, and I'm not just shovelling around the
hype when I say so.
Now one of the Scuds the Americans had tracked ,thought it had started on the usual track towards Israel, had suddenly veered off and headed off
into Mediterranean airspace.
The sailors of the submarine USS Jefferson had tracked it as the rogue Scud headed in their general direction, roughly about hundred miles
out, where the waters are as deep as two miles deep.
So the Scud crashed into the sea and the Jeffersons's acoustic
microphones had picked up the sound of the Scuds hull finally hitting
the soft mud on the sea bottom.
A report was duly filed, and President Bush was sent his briefing as well.
So years passed and in 1995
President Clinton was looking for something he could use to
energize his flagging 1996 re-election campaign.
By this point the rumours were floating in the upper intelligence cicles
about the TIA-MAT Scud that had somehow vanished during the Gulf War.
The Iraqui's were sticklers for notetaking and keeping track of their
10,000 Scuds launched during the war.Hell they even had purloined notes from Israeli Secret Agents listing where the nuts and bolts and pipes and rocket motors lay scattered on the ground in Israel.
All 9,999 of the fired Scuds final resting places were known.
All but number 666.
The records for it stopped as soon as it was shipped out of Scud Factory # 33.
You didn't need to be a rocket scientist to figure out that the
Scud the USNS Jefferson had seen crashing in the Mediterranean
years earlier was hull #666.
The TIA-MAT Scud that the Iraqi Secret Service had somehow lost track of.
So in mid 1995 the Glomar Explrer, rusting away in storage in
Boston since recovering that Soviet Whiskey submarine two decades earlier.
And so,the weed covered dented wreck of hull #666,was
pulled out of the soft mud while countless military USN mini subs carefully monitored its progress to the surface.
The guys in their subs reporting back had both excitement and fear
in their voices as they made the preliminary observations of hull #666
This Scud wasn't carrying a unexploded bomb at the top.
What bomb needs a pair of portholes and a sealed 2 foot six
hatch with the bright flourescent pentagram on it?
Hull 666 wasn't carrying a bomb.
It was carrying a space capsule!
