*Just before lunch*
Doctor Helen Tompkins rushed from Peter Talbot’s room to continue checking on her other patients. While feeling much better than earlier; the were-rabbit doctor was still in her heat cycle and she could feel that yearning to be with Peter building yet again. Biting her lip as she made her way through out the hospital; Helen was taken aback when she saw Tora Tachibana waiting for her when she arrived at a hospital room housing her next patient.
“Come with me,” was all the were-fox doctor said to her as he guided her to a non-descript room. Seeing the contents; a bed along with two chairs, Helen knew where she was led too.
“I can explain,” was all Helen could say before Doctor Tachibana pointed to a chair, instructing the doctor to sit.
“I don’t want to hear your excuse,” Doctor Tachibana glaring at Helen; “did you think no one would hear your screams as you had sex with a patient? A patient still recovering from a gunshot wound mind you.”
Helen could only stare , stunned and bug eyed; was she loud when rutting with Peter? Helen was not able to answer that question before doctor Tora started speaking again.
“I come from the morgue to hear from one of the nurses that she suspected you were not in your right mind,” Tora Tachibana speaking; “I tried to page you repeatedly, yet got no response. So I did some checking and after you checked on Peter Talbot you practically rushed off to the change rooms.”
“I tried,” Helen mumbles; “I really tried but it didn't work.”
“Tried what,” Tora speaking; “what didn’t work?”
“A cold shower,” Helen looking at Tora; “you wouldn’t understand, you’re not female.”
“Why is me not being female have anything to do with this conversation,” Tora Tachibana staring at the were-rabbit.
“I’m in heat,” Helen quietly answers; “usually cold showers help, but this time…”
“When did it begin,” Tora quickly getting up to feel Helen’s forehead; “have you been taking your were-birth control pills?”
“It started this morning,” Helen answering as doctor Tachibana examined her; “I took my pill as usual, and was feeling fine at first. But after I checked on Peter Talbot… Oh god,” Helen gasping; “seeing him at the ready I had to leave. The desire to have him; to be claimed by him…”
“Since the cold shower didn’t work,” doctor Tachibana sighing; “you returned to his room I take it.”
“It’s not as if I had a choice,” Helen crying; “I couldn’t help my self.”
“Yes you did have a choice,” Doctor Tachibana shouting; “you could have come to me and reported your condition. We could have helped you through it. Instead you jump the bones of a patient whose recovery may be delayed no thanks to you.”
“You don’t understand,” Helen looking at doctor Tora and seeing her were-rabbit self-standing behind the doctor smiling; “it didn’t feel like I was in control of myself. My animal half,” Helen seeing her were-rabbit self mouthing ‘go to peter’; “it talked to me before and after we did it. I’m seeing it right now behind you,” Helen now in tears; “it’s telling me to go to Peter.”
“Your animal half,” doctor Tora looking behind him to see no one there; “what did you talk about?”
“How I should give Peter a chance, and that it’s his touch that will satisfy my need. God dam it doctor Tora,” Helen looking distraught; “talking about him is making me want him badly. I need him.”
“If I didn’t know better,” Doctor Tora looking at Helen Tompkins; “I’d swear you are going through the same urges a normal experiences when their transformation is incomplete.”
“But I’m a naturally born were,” Helen looking scared; “how is that possible?”
“I don’t know,” Doctor Tachibana looking concerned; “but if it is anything like an incomplete transformation…”
“You have to let me be with Peter,” Helen bursting from her seat and grabbing doctor Tora; “if he is the only way to save me…”
Helen doesn’t finish her statement; instead her eyes roll as doctor Tora holds her and carries the were-rabbit to the nearby bed. Taking the needle that had the fast acting sedative and placing it in the bio-medical waste bin; Tora Tachibana looks at the heavily breathing were-rabbit as he steps out of the hospital safe room and closes the door.
“I want an hourly report on her,” Doctor Tora looking at a nearby nurse; “standard vitals, Blood pressure oxygen saturation and a complete bloodwork done. Have hospital security assist you if necessary,” Doctor Tora locking the safe room door; “and if you need to sedate her, be gentle. This is one strong heat cycle she is in.”
“Do you want the were-birth control pills she is on tested,” the nurse asking; “could it be a bad batch?”
“I don’t know,” Doctor Tora thinking; “but have them tested anyway. Call up her brother Andy to help locate them. Until we know more,” Doctor Tora looking serious; “both Helen and Peter are to be kept separate from each other. Do not even tell him or the Talbot’s were Helen is.”
“If Helen is truly in heat,” The nurse is looking concerned; “should we not be worried about a were-lion that views her as his mate?”
“That is my next headache,” Doctor Tora pausing; “female were-heat cycles tend to trigger something in a male. And since those two already mated once; Peter Talbot is going to view Helen as his and will act accordingly. Last thing we need is a possible were-lion running through the hospital blinded with mating lust.”
Doctor Tora Tachibana leaves the ward containing the safe room Helen is now currently sedated in. The were-fox sighs as he now for the time being has to handle Helen's patient load.
"I'll be glad when you are off maternity leave Maggie Lawson," Doctor Tora sighing; "because I could use your help right about now."
