The real question is. Where did these puddles come from? Surely they couldn't just have appeared from nowhere, there must be a source. You weren't sure what these puddles were or their purpose but you figured that other than the purple latex wolf and the other man who became some blue latex animal, you were the first civilian to discover them.
Carefully you look around, spooked by the quietness and darkness around you, the two latex animals seem to have really left. But where to? Did they simply wander off or did they have a set destination? It's a shame you didn't try and follow them but you figured it would have been too risky anyway. Perhaps there are other clues near the puddles?
Making sure to avoid the latex puddles, you give a large sweep of the area and doing so, realize that the puddles did not just have their influence on animals. Investigating the nearby plant life, you see that even then are not immune to the latex corruption. While the trees seem to have some resistance due to their size, the smaller plants all seem to have been affected. The grass was a mixture of shiny latex colors from red to brown and looking closer you see that the latex is still spreading! Even now, the grass below you is being quickly devoured and turned into a latex version of itself.
You jump back onto the pavement as you realize what that means itself. Even if they were just plants, they too could possibly infect you. Then a burst of ingenious strikes your mind as you get an idea. You got to the small area where both the latex wolf and feline had fled the scene and then see what you were hoping to find. Footprints! Not just any footprints, in the shape of a large paw, the grass had been corrupted into latex, but despite having already spread to nearby flora, the latex grass still had the reminscient look of two tracks of footprints, one blue and one purple. The footprints went in the same direction the two creatures left and you came to the conclusion that you could still follow them by simply tracking their paths of corruption. Getting excited, you follow the two paths early, leaving the puddles and nearly forgetting to keep quiet as you feel your initial thoughts of following the beasts fade away. You didn't wonder why though. You didnt wonder why you suddenly decided to ignore the risks and try and follow the latex monsters. Deep down, you felt something call to you.
As you follow the trail, you become dimly aware that you were not even following the latex anymore. Yet somehow you knew where to go. You navigated through the forest easily and then you find...
