"Diane, you idiot!" Rebecca screamed. Diane thought it was funny to see this small girl with a teen voice. "Now none of us can change back?"
"What do you mean?" Diane asked.
"I am from a family of witches and warlocks," Rebecca explained. "At age 12, you begin to develop powers. But you can only cast powers on other people or yourself if they or you are holding the magic necklace. At 18, the necklace is no longer necessary. Instead, you cast an invisible beam of light through your eyes."
"Wait a sec," Diane interrupted. "That's what that fat man did the other day. You mean..."
"Yes, he's my dad," Rebecca said. "He told me how you laughed at him so I promised I would have revenge. I made your friends spill the liquid on me. It was all planned."
"So you can't change us back because you are not old enough to have powers," Diane said.
"Exactly. We'll have to go to my dad to change back. But we can't."
"Why not?"
"Because he hates me," explained Rebecca. "I thought my getting revenge, that would please him. But if he saw me like this, he'd probably leave me like this, or even give me the mind of a two-year-old."
"Besides," Diane continued, "I'm definitely not going to walk around wearing only a miniskirt and a diaper."
"There might be one solution," Rebecca said. "If we break the necklace in two, then it is possible to turn back to our old selves."
"What if that doesn't work?"
"Then we will be stuck like this forever."
"We don't have much of a choice," Diane said. She took the necklace from Rebecca. "Let's hope this works." Then she pulled the necklace apart and it broke into two. There was a blinding flash of light and then...
