You wake up feeling rejuvenated, and pure once more from the addiction, and approached your master. "Hello master," you said
"You really don't need much sleep, it's merely been roughly 3 hours, and the sundial says 10:00 outside. Do you feel cleansed from your earlier events?" Harauphar asked
"Yes, shall we begin training master?" You asked
"No, like the addiction dark magic also has a toll to it, your body will build an immunity to addiction from that source, but never use dark magic, and a dark tome like that in the same day unless it's an emergency situation." Harauphar said
"I see, master if I may can I go to the nearby human town? It's still daylight outside, and my cravings for souls have been settled for now."You said
"The town? Hmmm very well however I need you to do a few things for me, like rules." Harauphar said and you nodded
"First, no soul hunting within the town. Two you must state that I am your master, and show them a mark that represents me that I shall give you soon. Three if you see anyone in need then assist them without magical capabilities, this goes for combat too especially considering you read the book today. Four, Return by nightfall, for if you sensed a towns worth of demons then something will most definitely happen, and I also have something for you to deliver." Harauphar said
Harauphar outfitted you with a harness and sachel, and put a letter into it. Harauphar then placed his hand onto your forehead and you felt a slight burning sensation, but then it stopped. "There, deliver that letter to the keep, and say that it is urgent, and state me as well, you may do whatever you please besides that, but within the restrictions I gave you, understood? You are already branded with my mark." Harauphar said
"Yes, master I shall carry out your task first then proceed to do with what I desire within your parameters." You said, and Harauphar nodded, and gestured you to leave.
You remembered the direction in which the town was, and began running in that direction eventually reaching the town. You saw a path leading to an entrance so you followed it up to the gate, and the two guards stopped you. "Beast, we will not grant you passage." One of the guards said aggressively motioning to attack.
"Wait! Wait I am no feral beast I am a familiar, sent by my master, master Harauphar. I have an urgent message from him I have to deliver to the keep at once. I also have been given strict orders from master Harauphar as to not attack any beings within the town." You said
"A familiar? Harauphar? That name..." said a third guard who was attired differently from the other two.
The guard walked up to you and said,"We have made trades with your master before. He says dark magic is his specialty too, however we know of the tolls. We just want to know if your master is still sane inside his mind." The guard said
"I know of these tolls, and master notified me of them today, and how bad they are addiction that turns people into crazed lunatics. Master Harauphar says never to read a dark spell book more than once a day, and he seems stable considering his family just stayed at his cottage." You said
"Heh, looks like he's still got it, very well then. Familiar, I am Sir Granid, I am captain of the guard here, and am head of the keep." The guard captain said
"Wait if your the head of the keep, can I just deliver the message to you Sir Granid?" You asked
"Why yes, if it's urgent and effects the town then we must prepare for the upcoming threat. Now what is your name my furry friend?" Sir Granid asked
"Master Harauphar has given me the name Wraith, and I have adapted to it quite well, and the symbol on my head is what my master branded me with before coming here. The message is inside the satchel, I'd give it to you myself but I am biologically incapable of doing so." You said turning the satchel towards the Sir Granid.
Granid took the letter out of the satchel, and read it looking a bit worried. "You figured this out last night? With minimal sleep?" Sir Granid asked and you nodded.
"Indeed, for you see Sir Granid I can devour souls of those I kill, and while most may see that as demonic, daek, and sac religious. Master Harauphar says it's like a form of justice for punishing those who deserve worse than death. Even though my ability to devour souls presents itself as hunger, I satisfy myself by hunting prey, and when doing so I figured out I can sense souls of everything including everything living in the town here. As well as a lot of tainted souls that Master Harauphar debunked as being demons a few miles west from my Master's cottage. I figured since being a multiple tailed fox, or Kitsune if you will, being nocturnal combined with the fact that soul hunting is within my nature it's only natural for me to require minimal sleep." You said
"You seem very bright, thank you for the information, we will prepare immediately, and thank your master as well." Sir Ganid said and you nodded,"I wish you all good luck, and farewell until I hopefully return to see you once more." You said before dashing into the woods, and thinking of what to do next.
