Moon Lake, Andersons: ♫Some Enchanted Evening...♫

added by The Masked Writer 6 years ago O

{{Our episode title is a song recorded by many but debuted in the Rogers and Hammerstein musical South Pacific.—tmw.}}

Ben Twist was ready and eager for his date.
The first knock on the door was the arrival of the pizza delivery boy.
Considering both his mothers had their own keys to the house, Ben couldn't help but smile, for he knew who the new arrival on his front porch knocking at the door had to be.
"Good evening Miss Adaeze," he said with a smile, greeting his girlfriend.
"Good evening to you too Mister Twist," replied Kenya, before kissing him. "When do you expect your mothers home?" she asked, noting that Ben was still fully dressed and not in his werewolf fursona.
"No idea," he admitted, closing the door behind her. "I got a phone message from both of them basically saying the same thing. That there was a lot going on that they had to deal with and that they would be home when they could."
"Then should I be here?" wondered Kenya. "Where I come from, it wouldn't be considered proper."
"I want you here," said Ben, looking lovingly at her as he took Kenya's hand. "Besides, the pizza's all ready to eat," he added, leading her to the dining room table.
Kenya couldn't help noticing that the table sported only candlelight, for both were weres with great night vision, and there was soft romantic music playing on the stereo in the living room. Yet the table was set for 4, for whenever Samantha and/or Frances Twist returned.
"It looks like you thought of everything, my wonderful werewolf," said Kenya with a smile.
"A werewolf I may be, my precious panthress," replied Ben, getting into the spirit of the evening, "but I'm also a man in love who wants to spend every moment he can with you," he added, holding her chair out for Kenya.

Between the two of them, they consumed most of the Meat Lovers' Pizza from Moe's and a couple of glasses of milk each.
The topics of conversation ranged from how their respective days went to their hopes and dreams of the future.
"Someday I hope to own and live in a nice quiet house like this," admitted Ben, while finishing his last slice. "I don't have too many memories of my life before Samantha and Frances assumed guardianship of me when my biological parents died, but all my earliest memories of either set of parents include living in a tranquil setting like this."
"Living in a small New York City apartment with my parents and younger sister was rough," said Kenya, recalling her own past. "By comparison, it's like I've moved into a mansion being here in Moon Lake with my aunt and uncle. I have my own room, and don't have to worry about misplaced belongings, although I do have a wider space to search if I've mislaid something," she added with a smile.
"Well, there is one thing I seem to have mislaid," said Ben, as he moved closer to where his girlfriend was sitting, despite the fact they had been sitting next to each other throughout the meal. "But I know exactly where it is," he added, while staring at her.
"Oh? And what is it?" she wondered, while returning the stare with a longing glance of her own.
"My heart," replied Ben, before he leaned forward to give Kenya a long, passionate kiss.

When their lips finally parted, Kenya looked at him and said, "My sweet Benjamin. You keep this up, and I cannot be held accountable for my actions," as her hand started to caress his t-shirt covered chest.
"I want you as much as you want me," he conceded, "but unfortunately we can't do it in the house. Especially with my mothers gone. Yet we can dance," suggested Ben.
"It has been awhile," conceded Kenya, as she let Ben take her hand and lead her back to the living room.
Standing there, the happy couple stared at each other as Ben put one arm around Kenya's waist. The other continued to hold her hand in his as he pulled her closer.
Then, when a new song began to start on the radio, Ben began to dance.
Kenya followed, quickly getting the movements.
It was a simple slow dance. The two of them swaying back and forth to the music, yet it was special to them.
It was their first, but certainly not the last, dance they would ever have together.
"Do you dance any other styles?" inquired Kenya.
"A couple, but this style is my favorite, for it's the one where I get to truly enjoy the moment and the pleasure of your company," replied Ben.
"I agree," she said, while laying her head gently on his shoulder.

How long they were together like that, neither knew for sure or cared.
Ben lost count of how many songs had already played.
The only thing that mattered to him was the woman in his arms, and if asked, Kenya would say the same thing in regards to him.
Their romantic evening proceeded as is until they heard a voice say "Awwwww...."
With that, both turned to see Samantha and Frances Twist standing in the open doorway of their house.
"You know Samantha," began Frances, as she closed the door behind them, "it's been quite a while since we've went dancing."
"Really?" said her wife in disbelief. "Then I guess I better correct that right now," she added, before Samantha took Frances in her loving arms.
Soon there were two happy couples standing in the middle of the Twist family living room's impromptu dance floor.
As they held their respective partners and enjoyed the moment, each looked over to the other couple and smiled as a romantic moment was shared by all.
