Henry and Harry didn't stay long with Huck, as visiting hours were coming close to an end, though there wasn't that much they really had to say. Henry had sat with Lisa as she worried when they were first told and all of the Jenkins family saw how Betty was practically hovering on edge. That had made it clear that Betty was looking toward a long term relationship and her years of built love for Huck was finally bubbling over with Huck being wounded. The room was fairly dim as they entered with only a small light on above Huck's bed. He was still in his transformed state, but with the door shut and only known visitors or hospital staff having access, it wasn't a major problem.
"You gave us all quite a scare, today, Huck," Henry Sr. said to his eldest son.
"I didn't plan on it, dad," Huck answered weakly, "the just kinda sneaked up behind me."
"Thank goodness you were only wounded," Harry commented, "We don't want to lose you, Huck."
"It'll take more than a punk with a gun to get me," Huck laughed weakly, "though... he did come close."
Harry and Henry both nodded. It was eventually Henry who spoke, "Do you know when you'll be released?"
"I'd think by Friday afternoon," Huck answered, "and I will be clear to see you and Jenny happily married."
"That's good," Harry spoke, "because I wouldn't miss having you there for the world. Get better Huck."
Huck laid back on the bed and gave a grunt to acknowledge the comment. He had every intention of getting well, and Henry and Harry were both relieved to see that Huck would get better. Harry and Henry both stepped back when the door opened and a nurse stuck her head in. She looked to both Harry and Henry.
"Excuse me, sirs," the nurse spoke calmly, "but our visiting hours are coming to an end. You can come back in tomorrow."
"Of course," Henry nodded while Harry squeezed Huck's hand.
The two then made there way out. Henry was quick to move and hug Lisa while Harry moved to stand with Jenny. As they emerged, everyone who had come to visit them or had come with Huck stood up and slowly stretched. Jenny and Betty both got up and Jenny moved toward Harry. William and Martha stood up next to each other and stayed near where Peter and Karen were. As Harry and Jenny hugged, Henry stepped forward.
"I'd think that Huck will be fine," Henry Sr. spoke, "neither you nor Betty need to worry."
"Yes," Lisa nodded, "He told me he'd be good to go for the wedding on Saturday."
"Well... that's good," William said slowly as he held Martha to him, "especially after all the stress and noise from today."
"And the big thing is that Dieter's agent was caught and arrested," Jenny agreed, "that might mean that we don't have to worry about Dieter that much anymore."
"Well, that's good," Karen smiled, "That'll mean we can all go home and start over."
"Or carry on," Peter said to Karen and rubbed her shoulders.
"When we get to the right time," Karen spoke, "Which it isn't right now..."
"Do you want to go back to your dorm, since this agent isn't on the loose anymore?" Peter asked.
"Eventually," Karen answered, "for tonight... I'm fine with the guestroom."
"Yes... I'd think that after everything from today... I'd think we're all looking for comfort," Martha spoke, "hopefully, getting through it will let the next couple of days go well... Jenny and Harry have a great wedding... Ms. Betty, you and "Huck" have a very happy life together, and so on. Breathe a sigh of relief at getting through today and pick up tomorrow."
A part of Martha's mind was still focused on the lock-down bell that meant that there was someone or something dangerous either in the school or near it. She'd managed to recover from the initial shock, and figured that the guy had caused it was probably the guy who shot Henry Jenkins Jr., but that didn't mean that Martha had ever expected something like that. She was glad that the Jenkins family would survive the days events, but that didn't mean that she'd fully thrown off the stress. She found herself being pulled toward William and she gave a small smile as they walked out.
"On that, we can agree," Henry answered, "You'll be there for the wedding?"
"We wouldn't miss it," William said with pride, which made Jenny smile.
