"Nate..." began his boyfriend Alex Ramsey, after the two werewolf lovers had a good rut in the Anderson family's backyard.
"Yes?" wondered the oldest Anderson son, while holding his lover close.
"I know this may be seriously premature, but when we're both 18 and whichever one of us gets up the nerve to ask the other first..."
"Yes," was all Nate said before kissing his future husband.
INSIDE THE ANDERSONS HOUSE...
"So I'll talk to my dad about having him get our contractor in touch with your family about installing a fresh water pool," were-mermaid Julie Stovall promised her fiance Eric Anderson, the latest were-merman of Moon Lake, as they continued their nightly Skype chat.
"It might be for the best just to have your dad give my dad the contact info the next time they see each other, because right now my dad says they're just talking about it," pointed out Eric. "Besides, it won't be till next Spring at the earliest, and my folks still need to research the logistics of the project."
"Okay. But when it's the two of us in our own house, we're not only getting a pool of our own, but every bathroom will eventually have a full size spa tub like all the bathrooms here do. That way, we can still cuddle... or whatever, in warm water even in the middle of winter," said Julie, as a slight blush appeared on her cheeks.
"Agreed," Eric said with a smile.
"Is that the time?" Julie asked in disbelief, suddenly noticing the display on the task bar of her computer screen.
"Yeah. We've been talking for almost 4 hours straight."
"Well, I guess it's time for us to go to bed before my parents realize I'm still up," said Julie. "After all..."
"Tomorrow's a school day," the couple said in unison.
NEXT DOOR...
The fact that it was now after 10 PM that night is what broke up the impromptu party at the Twist residence. Ben Twist and his girlfriend Kenya Adaeze, accompanied by his mothers Samantha and Frances, had danced the evening away to songs over the radio when the married werecat couple weren't munching out on pizza or telling embarrassing childhood tales of Ben as a boy to Kenya.
"So, Ben was about 7 when we first explained to him he was a werewolf and what that meant," began Frances, recounting the tale over sodas when the couples took a break from dancing. "Anyway, a couple of days later was the next full moon. So that night after it rose, Ben went out into the backyard completely naked howling away at the top of his lungs, thinking he was going to change."
"No," said Kenya with a smile, as she turned to look at her boyfriend, who was turning red in embarrassment.
"Do not worry my beloved," said Kenya. "You are a wonderful werewolf," before she kissed his cheek, which made Ben feel better.
Now the party was over. His mothers offered to clean up for the evening as Ben walked Kenya to her moped, which was at the curb in front of their house.
Kenya saw he was looking a bit down, so said, "The next time we are alone with my aunt and uncle, I'm sure they will tell some... interesting stories about my childhood, considering they still lived in New York City with the rest of my family before moving out here to Moon Lake," she told him.
"It's not that," Ben replied, staring deeply into her eyes. "I just don't want to say goodbye."
"Then don't. This is just good night, for now," said Kenya, before she wrapped her arms around her boyfriend and gave him a very passionate kiss.
"Tomorrow night. Our log?" Kenya asked him, after their lips finally parted.
"Unless something like tonight comes up again, definitely," promised Ben as she mounted her moped. "And Kenya?"
"Yes my Benjamin?" she asked, while putting on her helmet.
"The day I turn 18..." he began.
"And you know what my answer shall be," Kenya replied with a smile, before giving Ben one last kiss for the night.
After that, she started her moped and then rode off into the night to head home.
Ben stood there at the curb and, even with a werewolf's better sight capabilities, watched until he could no longer see his girlfriend before turning and heading back inside for the night.
"They really do love each other. Deeply. Like we do each other," observed Frances as she grabbed her wife's hand and led them away from the curtained front window before Ben realized his mothers had been watching them.
"I know," agreed Samantha, as they started having one last slow dance together, despite the fact that the stereo was off for the night. "I still hope they wait until at least the summer after Ben graduates high school, but whenever he does marry Kenya, they have my blessing," she added, before holding Frances closer.
