Phil chanced his luck down the jewellery aisle and almost immediately, his eyes were drawn to a heart pendant and ring set - both with large sapphire jewels embedded in them. Despite the limited light in the room, they shone brightly.
Phil picked up the items and a voice inside his head whispered 'yessssss'. He had no idea why, but something drew him to the jewellery and he couldn't put it down. He shook off the effect and took the set to the attendant at the counter.
"Yes, a wonderful present for your lady friend. She will enjoy these very much. Now, I must warn you, there are strict rules to follow!" said the man. "What, rules? Like a game?" replied Phil. "You could say that... Firstly, the pendant and the ring must be worn together, but not necessarily by the same people. Secondly, once you have begun, you must finish." continued the man "Wait, finish. What do you mean 'finish'?!" interrupted Phil. "Sir, you will see. The most important rule is that you do not remove the pendant until you have finished. To do so may have unexpected consequences for the wearer!" warned the man.
"This sounds... dangerous... Is it dangerous?" questioned Phil. "No, no, it's not dangerous, per-se. Just follow the instructions and everything will be fine!" answered the old man.
"Ok, i'll take it! How much?" said Phil. "No, no money. Everything in this store is free for the right customer. One item only, but otherwise, free!" replied the old man. "Wait, really. Okay. Thank you!" replied Phil. The man smiled at him as he left.
Phil shut the door, walked away and then turned around. The door from the shop was gone. Confused, he shrugged and headed back to his car.
