Jack held his breath as the clopping grew closer, but then he heard one of the Satyrs call out.
"Hello? Is there anyone still here, we only want to help." The voice was deep and masculine, there was something hypnotic about it. However, none of that mattered because Jack knew that voice. It was his best friend, Tommy.
Peeking over one of the many collapsed pieces of furniture, Jack gazed out of the store and at the pack of Satyrs relaxing in the middle of the street. They were all naked, save for the coarse fur that covered their lower bodies, but even that was sparse enough that he could still see the sexual bits of the former people. He didn't care for that though, no, his eyes were stuck on a young blond haired satyr that stood dead center in the middle of the group.
Tommy, he... he didn't make it.
Jack watched the satyr that was once his best friend. Two pronounced horns adorned his head, and his ears stuck out to the sides like that of a goat. Light golden colored fur covered his best friends body, covering his nether regions from sight. Similarly, a flat-like tail waved behind him.
Desire, anguish, hatred, sorrow, agony, all of them filled him. Tommy was the closest thing he had to a brother, because his parents couldn't have another child after his birth. He loved the other teen in ways that could be seen as incestuous if they had been truly related.
Jack watched with a broken gaze as the group of Satyrs moved on, his eyes never leaving Tommy.
He... he still had to look for his parents. There would be time later to reflect on what happened to Tommy.
Jack scavenged some food before moving on, once more moving around the deadly streets. He had a few choices, he could check out his house, the community center, town hall, or the local bank. Those were the locations that most likely survived the initial infection, and they were his best bet for finding his family.
