Day 3
Jeff finally got to talk to Brian before classes. "Hey man, whats up?" Jeff asked as he approached.
"Hey Jeff, It's good to see ya. I wanted to let you know I'm gonna be busy for the next week after school." Brian replied grabbing a book from his locker and shoving it into his overburdened backpack.
"Oh?" Jeff said, disappointed that he won't be seeing his friend. "What's going on?"
"My dad and I got into a fight last night, I'm grounded, and after school he is going to take me to work with him so I can see how hard it is to be the man of the house."
"What happened?" Jeff asked, thinking that's a pretty extreme punishment.
"I don't even know, one minute we were talking, the next I was so angry. I barely remember what I said and I have no idea why I said it." Brian grunted as he lifted his book bag. The seams were straining. "I have to go, I need to make sure all my work is finished in class cause I wont be able to work on it until I get home at 9:40"
"Wait!, What about the weekend?" Jeff called as the bell rang.
Brian turned, "All day doing my dad's job, then house chores, then homework."
With that, Brian disappeared into the sea of students.
