Thankfully, the day is getting late, so the deepening shadows hide your mermaid-made canal of water snaking its way through town, being sure to stay out of plain view. A few times, you have to duck into an alleyway of backyard when a car drives by, but eventually, you make it to your house. You glance behind you at your mermaid companions floating behind you and give them the signal to be quiet. Carefully, you create a pocket of water inside the door lock and manipulate it around until you hear a click. Without making a sound, you open the door and flow inside.
Making sure to close the door behind you, your party spreads out through the house, searching for its human occupant. Finally, you catch your sister just as she is microwaving a frozen dinner. Before she can even scream, you engulf her with water.
With satisfaction, you watch your sister writhe inside her watery prison as her body transforms. Her clothing is quickly discarded, allowing her bare legs to merge into a scaly tail. Meanwhile, her figure improves, waist tightening while her hips widen a little. Above it all, her breasts bob as they gain a couple of cup-sizes, and her hair billows out from its short bob into a flowing mane that reaches down to her tail. Even her face becomes more beautiful. Soon, her transition is complete.
“What happened?” She gasps. “I’m…”
“A mermaid,” you finish for her. “Just like me, sister.”
“Sister?” She squints at you, finding your features both familiar and unfamiliar at the same time. “Do I know you?”
Joining your pockets of water together, you embrace her. “It’s me, your brother! Though I guess I’m your sister now.”
“Mike?”
You grin. “Hi, Ellie. How do you feel?”
“I…” She frowns. “I feel good, actually. Wonderful even! I ought to be upset, but I’m not! Why is that?”
This time, one of your new friends approaches. “Because being a mermaid is great! Much better than being some boring human. Deep down inside, you can feel it’s true.”
“You’re right! It does feel better,” Ellie says, a smile brightening her face.
“Everyone should feel this way,” you add.
She pauses. The import of your words sinks in, and she nods. “Yes. It would be cruel to leave anyone out of this feeling.” She pulls you into another hug. “Oh, Mike, thank you for sharing this with me first! Let’s make all humans into mermaids!”
In celebration, all of you swim around the house, filling it to the brim with water and working your magic on all your belongings. Furniture, electronics, everything morphs into rocks and coral until your home resembles a giant aquarium. Only magic keeps the water from bursting out from every crack and seam of the building.
Once you’re done, your sister asks, “So, now what?”
