Malice the Prankster

added by Alphagor 6 years ago O

Malice had been waiting this day for a long time. Not long after she was first uplifted, she learned about the different holidays that humans celebrated. Yes, there were plenty of other holidays that she liked, Halloween and Christmas being among the top picks. But when she first heard about April Fool's Day, she had been thinking of the perfect pranks to pull on that day.

Of course, her April Fool's Day wasn't exactly what she had expected. She was anticipating to be in Lyre, not at Mieni Atoll. But that didn't hold her back from planning a couple of good pranks.

Her first victim was Samson. It wasn't particularly hard to trick Samson as the uplifted stallion was the slow thinker types. But Malice didn't have a particular vicious prank in store for him. All it took was for Samson to sit down in a certain chair. And to Malice's delight, there were other people there, including Abby, to hear Samson apparently let loose an enormous fart. Samson could only grin in embarrassment and said, "Well, like they say, a horse that never stops farting, never stops working." Of course, everyone had a nice laugh when Malice revealed the whoopee cushion that Samson sat on.

Another amusing prank she played on Sophie. She waited until Sophie came across her. Malice was holding a seashell up to her ear. "Hey, Sophie, I can hear the ocean in this thing," said Malice.

"That's a myth, you know," said Sophie, "You're just hearing the blood course through your ear."

"Oh really? Why don't you try it?" asked Malice, handing it over to Sophie.

Sophie shrugged and put the seashell to her ear. It did sound remarkably like the ocean waves but then she unexpectedly heard a busy signal before an automated voice said, "We're sorry, the line you're trying to reach has been disconnected. Please try again later." Sophie looked at the seashell with confusion as Malice doubled over with laughter. She soon saw that it was a plastic seashell with an electronic speaker. Even Sophie had to admit it was a good prank.

Malice's pranks only got more enthusiastic from there, though some might consider them toeing the line a bit. Making Jessica fall into a small sand pit that was covered with a beach towel was a little shocking, but the sand pit wasn't deep enough for her to have injured herself. Putting itching powder in the turtles' shells while they were changing into their swimsuits was a little on the mean side. Though it was kinda funny how they tried to scratch themselves under their shells before running for the water. Thankfully, the itching powder washed out in the surf. And placing that bucket of ice water on top of Tiffany's door might have been a little too much. Granted, it didn't do much more than give Tiffany a shock. Malice obviously still felt a bit vindictive towards the former queen bee.

Pranking Sarah took extra effort which is why Malice got Simon to help. Simon walked with Sarah for a while, talking about the history of Mieni Atoll. Eventually, while they were on part of the nature trail, Simon brought up the rumor that the Japanese might have had a POW camp on this island during World War II and that some people who had died of yellow fever was buried here somewhere. Sarah was dismissive about those rumors until Malice reached a hand out of one bush and grabbed Sarah by the ankle. Sarah's scream was heard from quite a bit away. Simon and Malice were wincing as their sensitive ears rang from the scream, but eventually, they were able to laugh.

Later in the afternoon, Malice was relaxing in her room, reading a book. She had developed a taste for reading since uplifting, though it took her a little while to learn how to read. Her ear twitched as she heard someone coming and she looked up to see Sarah approaching with a rather round cake. "Hey," said Sarah, "I just made this frosted angel food cake and I wondered if you'd like to have some of it."

"You know we can't eat chocolate," said Malice.

"It's angel food, not devil food," said Sarah, "It's perfectly safe to eat. Look." She took a small bit off the side of the cake and put it in her mouth.

"Ok, I'll have some," said Malice, putting her book aside, "No hard feelings about the scare?"

"Nah, it was just a prank," said Sarah, handing Malice a fork.

Malice smiled before stabbing the middle of the cake. That was when the balloon that Sarah had covered with frosting popped, resulting in Malice getting frosting all over her face. Malice gaped a bit before trying to remove the frosting from her eyes. Sarah was laughing pretty hard and called, "Did you get that, Travis?"

Travis wave a camera in the doorway and said, "Got it all on tape."

Malice grinned at her sister and said, "That was pretty clever."

"I've been doing April Fools a lot longer than you have," said Sarah smugly.

"Just wait until next year," said Malice as she licked the frosting off her muzzle.
