Minutes dragged into hours. Hours into days. After a week, there came a knock at the door. Leaping to your feet, you run to the door and throw it open to find... UPS. As the epic let down settled in, you take the package and thank the man, depressed as you close the door. As you put down the package in your bedroom where you know it belongs, there is a knock at the door. Not so enthusiastic this time, you stand and walk to the door. This time, as I glance at the clock and realize not much time has passed at all, I curse the damned thing and its perception of time in anticipation as I open the door, thinking of the old adage, 'A watched pot never boils.' Too true you realize, as now that you're not waiting for them to arrive, now here they are.
Beyond the door stands Ian, your friend and chosen entertainer when it comes time to dream up new things to do. Well, at least the evening is kicking off on the right foot! Well just wait until he saw THIS new thing you found! You look outside, noting his empty car in the driveway, and no other person there. "Hey man! Where's Julie?" You ask as you invite him in. Having the pair there was part of the plan, having something to experience together as a group! He had always said she might be into some things like this. But then, who knew what 'this' really was? Maybe it was for the best.
At least you could hear the tale while you awaited the others' arrival.
