While Matt was pondering her problem, a possible solution started to form in the back of her mind. If the Chronivac could alter her, why not someone else? She could create her ideal lover for this form, someone with all the attributes she found attractive in females, but with the necessary equipment to perform as a male. Matt considered picking someone random, a stranger whose life would be randomly changed forever and never know the reason why, but as her eyes roved over the other bar patrons, she rejected the notion. If something went wrong, or the person discovered the Chronivac, who knows what sort of revenge they might take? Better to choose a known quantity who could be trusted to keep a secret.
Matt now began to examine her friends, who were busy discussing their professors for the upcoming semester. Her eyes lingered on Noel, as he was a trusted friend of the old Matt. However, the idea of becoming "friends with benefits" with a guy friend felt weird to Matt, even if Matt was now female, and she actually managed to make Noel physically attractive to her. After considering and rejecting a few other pals, Matt's gaze finally landed on Alexis.
Matt realized that in many ways Alexis was the perfect partner in her Chronivac escapade. Since Alexis was female, she was rather attractive, although Matt had never thought of her as girlfriend material, mainly due to her personality. However, it was this personality that would make her the best option. Rather than seeing Matt as a lover, Alexis was more likely to be interested in the Chronivac itself for art purposes, and wasn't likely to use it to make Matt's life difficult out of some selfish obsession or misguided revenge. If the offer was framed in the right way, Alexis could become Matt's perfect partner in crime.
"Hey, Lex," Matt addressed Alexis after successfully isolating her for a moment. "You free tonight? I just got a really interesting 3-D modeling program that I think you'd be into. Want to come over and see it? I think it'd give you a new perspective on the human form for your sculpting." While Alexis initially looked bored, not really into computer art, the mention of sculpting naturally drew her attention, and not suspecting anything odd, she quickly agreed.
Matt let Alexis in the front door and turned the lights on while Alexis flopped on the sofa.
"So what's this great program?" Alexis asked relaxedly.
