Kayla couldn't be sure yet if the spell had worked. She inspected James as he sat passively in his bowl - he certainly looked the same and he wasn't complaining for once. At least not initially.
"Um, could you let me out of this bowl. I don't belong here" James asked sulkily.
"Shit" Kayla tutted to herself "the spell can't have worked"
"What spell?" James asked, a little concerned "Did you do something to me?"
Kayla paused for a moment before deciding to tentatively test the water "So, um can I ask you something. Have you always been a frog?"
"What?" James seemed baffled by the question "Of course!"
"So you wouldn't want to be a human?"
"Ugh, no!" James responded "No offense"
Kayla giggled "None taken. But don't you think it is a little strange that you can talk?"
"Hmm, I guess" James paused for a moment, the whole situation becoming increasingly confusing for him "But it doesn't matter. I just want to go back to the pond, this bowl is so restricting!"
Kayla wasn't sure what to do next. Part of her felt she owed it to James to do as he asked, but she had no idea how to alter his voice and a talking frog could raise some serious questions if anyone found it. On the other hand it could be a real money spinner for her and her father, though perhaps James had been exploited enough already.
Kayla thought for a moment before making her decision "Hmm, I'll tell you what I'll do.."
