"H-hi everyone!" You start nervously "My name is Peter and I'm a Elementary School Teacher" you pause and try to smile warmly at the cameras. "I would like to think I have the patience of a saint, seeing how I work with very demanding little people" Chuckling nervously you wipe the sweat from your forehead "This is my favourite TV show and I can't wait to get to know everyone better"
There is an awkward silence as you finish. You can tell that everyone wanted you to say a little bit more about yourself. You're of average height and would consider yourself very standard in all aspects, whether that be appearance, physicality and intelligence. Right now everyone is looking at you like you're the biggest mystery on the island. You open your mouth to speak again before being cut off by Ryan.
"LOVELY!" The Host declares almost shouting with joy "You are a delight!" He claps his hands for a few moments before launching into the last set of instructions.
"I bet you're all anxious to head to your new camp and start getting to know each other...well don't let me stop you...I will see you back here in three days time to have your very first vote-off. There is no challenge this round...consider this a settling in stage" Ryan smiles warmly "although setting up your camp will be challenge itself"
He laugh loudly "all that is left for me to say is...WELCOME TO ALTERED FATES...THE GAME STARTS NOW!"
and that was it...the producers instructed you and the other nine contestants to walk away from the arena and towards your camp on the opposite side of the beach. When you get to the camp, there is lots to do. Luckily for you, you find yourself immediately in everyone's good books as you are able to light a fire. You spend the next couple of days getting to know everyone and building the new camp.
By the vote-off day arrives, you're worried...normally everyone is sure of who is going to be voted off first. No one has particularly done anything wrong, so there is a chance that all of you could go home. Maybe the sheer fact no one has spoken to you about the vote means that everyone wants you gone.
Whilst building a bed out of palm leaves, Trent comes and sits next to you.
"Peter...my man!" he starts "I'm glad to get a moment with you before the vote" he pulls you into a hug "now...so far you have been one of the most useful camp members and I'm not a fool...I need useful people in this game...for now anyways. So how about you join my alliance?"
"Alliance?" you splutter, your mind reeling. Has everyone already split up into alliances?
"Yeah, myself, Ryan, Saira, Tiffany and Mike make a strong five, but we need a sixth vote...we want that sixth vote to be you"
You take a moment to let that sink in. That is one formidable alliance for sure, all of the players that mentioned being strategic have already partnered up. You gulp slightly and all you can do is nod.
"The others are losers...really weak players...I wouldn't be surprised if they want to be transformed into something that isn't quite so pathetic. Look I'm going to be honest, you either vote with us or you don't, we probably have the numbers regardless...but rest assured if there is not 6 votes for Ling by the end of tomorrow, you will be my next target. Oh yeah...didn't I mention it earlier...? I want Ling out first, her attitude towards this game is pretty terrible and she deserves to go first. ...I'll leave you with your thoughts but I sincerely hope I can count on you...buddy..." the older man chuckles and ruffles your hair.
It's a smart move by the alliance to target Ling, she has probably done the least around the camp and can't be particularly popular with the audience at home yet. You're lost in thought when someone taps you on the shoulder causing you to nearly jump out of your skin.
"Jesus!" You shout as you spin around and recognise the person that brought you back to reality "Ling! You nearly gave me a heart attack!"
"Sorry! Sorry!" Ling giggles, her short black hair bouncing as she laughs "I didn't mean to startle you...it's just...I heard nearly everything you and Trent just said" she sighs deeply "I can't be voted out, Peter...I just can't...I have something to remain human for now" she looks squarely into your eyes as she says this "I need you to vote with me tonight"
"B...but...we would only be two votes, they have at least five" you reply
"No!" Ling quickly replies "I'm not as useless as everyone thinks, I actually have organised an alliance of my own...5 votes actually. Me, Ryan, Amy, Geoffrey and Mario have already agreed to vote Trent this round. We need to get the biggest thread out now. I can't risk a tie vote...you know what happened last year where they allowed the public to break any ties"
Your mind reels as you process this. Wait...Ryan? Ryan was also supposedly in Trent's alliance, is he playing both sides and hedging his bets...? You open your mouth and contemplate telling Ling this information but you decide against as you may be able to use it later to either help eliminate Ryan or get him on side later on in this competition.
"Peter...my life is your hands...please vote with us!" Ling is pleading with you now "please...I just want to get to know you better" she is getting very close to you now "I know I can trust you, please help me" she sniffs suddenly and stands up "I know you'll do the right thing...see you at the vote"
You soon find yourself sitting down in the arena at the vote...you are handed a piece of paper and pen from Ryan and start you write down your vote as the host explains the rules.
Will it be for Ling? or Trent? Or maybe you want to throw your vote, not wanting to have any responsibility for the first person to be transformed. You look around at your fellow contestants and breathe deeply...
