“Excuse me everyone, can I have a quick word?” After much contemplation, you realized that, in the long run, voting against either Ling or Trent would result in getting blood on your hands for the benefit of being on the bottom of a six person alliance. Under these circumstances, even making it to the end won’t impress the public enough to garner audience support. It’s clear now is the time to make a big move.
“Over the course of the last three days, two alliances have been forming here on the island. As many of you already understand, the two biggest threats going into tonight were Trent and Ling, the leaders of said alliances. However, when I was approached by the targets, I noticed our favorite slithering salesman here is considered a number by both sides...”
Pausing for dramatic effect, you take a second to grasp the reactions of your fellow competitors. Of course Ryan is sweating bullets, unable to speak up to defend himself knowing he got caught trying to play the middle. It isn’t helped by the glares he is receiving from both Mike and Tiffany. On the opposite spectrum, Mario and Saira can’t seem to take their eyes off of you, impressed by your reveal.
“Before you all cast your votes, I want all of you to know who I’m voting for. It's probably a surprise to no one, but Ryan is getting my vote tonight. I hope that those who want to play this game with honesty will follow my lead.”
Sitting down, you try listening to the murmurs. Everyone seems to be reconsidering their decision. Even Ling and Trent take the time to speak to each other. And almost as soon as the chaos erupted it died down as Mirage collected the votes.
Mirage repeats the rules before reading the votes. “The contestant who receives the most votes will immediately be asked to step forward and forfeit their fate to the viewing audience.” Mirage opens the jar.
“The first vote is for Trent.”
“Another vote for Trent here.”
“Third vote is for Ling. Two votes Trent, one vote Ling.”
“Ling. The vote is now tied at two each.”
“Two votes Ling, two votes Trent, and one vote Peter.”
“Ryan receives a vote. It’s now two votes for Ling and Trent and one vote for Ryan and Peter respectively."
“This vote is also for Ryan. Everyone but Peter is tied at 2 votes.”
“The vote is now a four way tie between Ling, Ryan, Trent, and Peter at two votes a pop.”
“Peter now leads with three votes. One vote left.”
“The person going home is…” You gulped. You never expected that making such a daring move could paint a target on your back so quickly to be considered for elimination.
“…up to the audience. The last vote was for Ryan.” Thank god, you think. At least you saved yourself the embarrassment of being the first person out like an idiot. Well, at least that would be the case if the audience has taking a liking to you for that speech you just made. All you can do is wait for the result.
The tension continued to build, nobody able to speak, until the results were revealed. Mirage didn’t disappoint. “The audience has decided that the first contestant eliminated from this season of Altered Fates is…"
