During Simon's graduation party, Clara gathered Animalia Ambassadoria around her. Her eyes were twinkling, and she was snickering slightly.
"What is it, Clara?" Asked Simon.
"You'd better see for yourself, because you won't believe it otherwise." Said Clara, pulling out her IPad and opening a news article called 'Bowling Ball Blunder'.
The CNN Headline News report showed a guy carrying a bowling ball caught on a security camera roaming the hotel lobby where the Mieni Black Wonder was being displayed in the middle of the night. After looking around himself, he heaved his bowling ball at the case, clearly intending to smash the case and steal the pearl. But instead of the glass breaking, the bowling ball bounced off the glass and bonked his noggin, knocking him unconscious. He was later found by Krysta as she started her shift at the reception desk.
There was also an interview with the scientist/designer of the case of the Mieni Black Wonder. He told the news reporter that the case was made of a new kind of tempered glass, as well as a demonstration of a one kilogram steel ball being dropped on a pane of similar glass from ten meters up without the glass shattering. There also was the same scene filmed from a hidden camera inside the display. When asked about why the glass was created, the scientist revealed that it was planned to include the glass in the development of a future "space taxi" to ferry tourists between Earth and a planned space station resort.
There was also included some color commentary by the World's Dumbest celebrity cast, and some silly sound effects. It was later reported that the person, having just won a bowling tournament in Sydney, Australia, had committed the act under a "blind and irresponsible delirium produced by drink", a.k.a having too much to drink at the after party. He had gotten off with a minor charge of public intoxication because the headache/concussion and hangover was punishment enough for him.
Everyone who saw that report laughed long and hard at that. Some were absolutely crying with mirth. There were also plans to include that security footage as part of the display, both as a laugh and as a warning.
