Sitting in the hospital room and chatting with Jean while Peter just grumbled; Nate had no clue his younger brother was just arriving to his new home room. With Eric being a genius, the school as well as their parents felt to place Eric into advance classes. Those same classes Nate would be attending if he wasn’t attacked the evening prior.
I wonder how long I have to be stuck here,” Nate sighs as he finishes the coffee; “apart from school, I do have a business to run.”
“You can’t mow lawns if you can’t stand up straight,” Peter snorting; “but you are not the only one stuck here as well.”
“At least Nate can leave without being hidden in robes,” Jean sniggering; “unlike some on who is in his fursona.”
“I shifted shortly after getting shot,” Peter growling; “yeah it’s put a crimp on where I can roam, but at least I’m healing quickly. You should shift Nate,” Peter looking at the young werewolf; “you’ll heal quicker that way.”
“I highly advise against that,” Helen speaking as she enters the room with a few coffees in hand.
“I took a peek at Nate’s chart,” Helen handing the coffee tray to Peter; “with damage to his inner ear, shifting will just make his sense of balance worse. He need to let it heal naturally.”
“What are you a doctor,” Nate looking at the new arrival and getting a strong smell of were-rabbit off of her.
“I am,” Helen looking at the young werewolf.
“And she is my mate,” Peter standing behind Helen; the tall were-lion towering over Helen, yet surrounding her protectively. “So no funny business,” Peter grumbling.
“He doesn’t need to do any,” Jean sniggering; “me however…”
“Don’t,” Peter looking serious; “tormenting me is one thing, but if you try anything with Helen…”
“Can we lay off with the threats,” Helen turning to look at her towering protector; seeing Peter’s eyes soften their threatening glare with one of compassion, Helen smiles as she takes one of the coffees peter was holding.”
“So how soon can I leave,” Nate looking at the lady fawning over Peter.
“I can’t answer that,” Helen sipping her coffee; “I’m not your doctor. Hell I’m currently under suspension.”
“Wha…” Nate looking confused.
Jean looked at her mate and wondered if the blows to the head game him some memory loss; reminding him of how Helen and Peter hooked up while her were-lion brother was convalescing from the bullet wound he received.

Meanwhile, Eric had to leave the gym and head to his home room class; after picking his extra courses. Courses that were college level, Eric walk to a classroom full of seniors that were bigger an older than him. While he was a were like most of the students, a quiet hush fell over the class as they see Eric entering and taking a seat. Hearing most of the whispers; most remarking why a cub is in their class. Eric noticed two familiar faces; Ben Twist and Alex Ramsey, friends and werewolves belonging to the same pack Eric’s older brother was in. The two get up and head towards Eric.
“I think you are in the wrong classroom,” Ben smiling at Eric.
“Not according to my class schedule,” Eric showing the two the paper; “I’ve been pushed up to take senior level courses as well as college courses.”
“No shit,” Alex looking at the schedule; “and from what I’m seeing, apart from your extra classes you have the same classes as me and Ben here.”
“I wonder if Nate will be in this home room,” Eric taking back his class schedule; “mom and dad did say he was still in the hospital after what happened yesterday.”
“Yeah we heard,” Ben growling; “to think some rich snob can do that to a fellow pack mate.”
The three were able to chat for some time more before a teacher finally arrived; noticing the heavy set man enter, both Ben and Alex groaned as they quickly went back to their seats.
“Settle down class,” the teacher speaking; “for those that don’t know me, my name is Jeff Wilson. For those that do know me,” Jeff looking at Ben and Alex; “I expect you to remember my rules in my classroom.”
Eric looks on as the teacher chimes off some nonsensical rules; watching as Ben and Alex roll their eyes.
“Now that that has been dealt with,” Mr. Wilson continuing his speech; “I see familiar faces and new faces. And we have a bit of a special case with us,” the teacher fixing his gaze on Eric; “principal Andrews informed me you would be taking senior level classes this year. Don’t expect any mercy or sympathy if you can’t hack it. You’ll get none from me.”

“What an ass,” Ben sighing as he and Alex walked out of home room; “so much for summer break mellowing him out.”
“I hope he isn’t our math teacher this year,” Alex looking at his schedule; “I doubt I can stomach him again.”
“I take it,” Eric walking to his next class with Ben and Alex; “Jeff Wilson has some history with you two?”
“Not just us,” Ben sighing; “everyone who’s had a class taught by him. Wilson is a prick who likes to grade on an impossible scale.”
“Plus his teaching method,” Alex chuckling; “is akin to nails on a chalk board. You listened to his speech for home room, that should give you some ideal.”
“And he was your math teacher last year,” Eric following the werewolves to his next class; “no wonder Nate was struggling with math.”
“Everyone was,” Ben stopping and turning around to look at Eric; “your brother and Wilson never got along all that well. While Nate never received detention from the prig,” Ben continuing; “that doesn’t mean there weren’t any close calls. Wilson will no doubt target you.”
“Me,” Eric looking stunned; “why?”
“It could be the fact that you’re smart. Or the fact that you’re Nate’s younger brother,” Alex shrugging; “every year that fat piggy likes to target one student and make life difficult for them.”
“Or he could be going after you,” Ben looking sympathetic; “because he can’t go after Nate at the moment.”
“We’ll talk more during lunch,” Alex looking Eric; “right now, let’s just enjoy the one school day where we won’t be getting any home work.”
“And here I’d thought I was going to be bullied by an older student,” Eric growling lowly; “but from a teacher?”
