Louis was an ordinary person who did ordinary things with an ordinary life. He had ordinary friends and an ordinary life. But one day that changed for him, his friends and family.
It was an ordinary Saturday, and Louis had been revising for a test on archaeology. He had just finished his course and now was going on to his finals. As he was fiddling around with bits of old architecture he noticed his phone was vibrating under some paperwork. It rumbled the paper, making it go static with fear. Louis took off the piece of paper gently onto a ruffled pile of paperwork and grapped his phone. It vibrated in his hand causing a tingling sensation which sent excited energy from his arm to the rest of his body. He opened up his phone and saw his friend Susan was calling him.
Susan was the one who sorted out Louis' life. From his university to his bedsheets Susan was the one who had the say in everything Louis did. She was his longest friend they knew each other from 3rd grade onwards and had a special connection which nothing could break. It may have frayed or wearied but it stayed interconnected through all the hardships of life. Susan was a part time tutor at the university and as a student it felt funny to be in the same environment to her. It felt like he was younger and immature. She was older and mature.
Louis answered the phone and loud static played, Susan must be driving. "Hello Sus-" Louis was interjected by Susan "There's no time Louis, meet me on the roof in ten minutes, oh yeah and bring that weird rune thing". She hanged up before he could answer. Susan had done things like this before, when they had a mysterious trip to Malta because Susan had heard about the digging of rare ores. Or when they went to Italy to try and find a gold pillar. None of this usually ended up with them getting money out of it. So Louis sighed and put the phone in his pocket.
The "weird rune thing" Susan was talking about was an artefact Louis won from an auction. It's meant to be a priceless gem which brought the wearer good luck. Susan was the one who told Louis to bid in the auction. She said they will get more money. Louis didn't trust her a lot because of their previous missions. But with compassion in mind Louis didn't want to fail Susan. So he grapped the Artefact and put it in the bag. He wouldn't dare to wear it. He wrapped the bag in bubble wrap and put that bag in a suitcase. He had to make sure it was okay.
Louis clicked the suitcase shut and stood up. He looked around his study, it was a mess. He picked up the suitcase, it was heavier than he expected and walked out the study turning of the light and leaving it to darkness.
