You remain frozen in place, despite every fiber of your being seeming to scream out at you to run. Even if you really wanted to, however, you doubt that you could... At the same time your body felt completely drained, as though even the slightest twitch was beyond your ability. You can't help but to wonder if the unicorn himself is responsible, though at the same time you can't blame him. The whole situation feels so surreal and calm... Leaves gently flutter to the earth, the trees producing them towering over you, almost uninmaginable in their scale, foliage colored the deepest shade of green you've ever seen. Light filters through the canopy, feeding the flowers filling the small field, and you can hear the waterfall quietly churning the small pond. Most striking is the unicorn himself, however, his form seeming so striking and majestic, his fur glistening, horn seeming to radiate a pure, bright glow, making you feel so serene... Yet even so you couldn't help but feel yourself that you've trespassed in the most egregious manner on this bastion of nature.
You debate his offer over again in your mind, unsure of just what to make of it. Letting him kill you, of course, doesn't quite seem like a feasible option to you. that leaves a choice still, however. Becoming an animal... Compared to the last alternative, it was tempting to say the very least. It seemed that life was better than death, no matter what kind of creature you might hace to be. The forest itself seemed vast and peaceful as well, and you'd probably be left well enough alone to your new life. You might even be able to pick out a species you like. Still, there were issues. You didn't even know if you would be allowed a say in that, for all you know you could end up as an insect. You didn't know how well you could make it on your own. How safe it might be abd just what you could manage. Finally you reach the last choice. Becoming a unicorn as well. At first it seems not too different from your last option. Thinking over it makes it seem better however... At least this way you would know what you are getting out of it. As far as you could guess from the example before you they were pretty intelligent as well, and could even communicate. You could also recall legends about the creatures, of their imortality, their near-divine nature, their benevolence... Finally you can't help but to be awed by him. His powerful but elegant physique, his grace, the very force he seemed to be projecting over you... You were as awed by him by his species. You feel like you've made your choice.
"...I, umm... Want to be a unicorn. Like you." You manage to say, despite feeling a certain degree of nervousness. After all, this was a life-altering decision by every mean. He seems to respond rather strangely to this, though, shifting slightly, and you sense a sudden forboding undertone to the atmosphere.
"Do you now...?" The voice speaks into your mind directly. You feel what almost seems like a sigh of sorts. "Of course you would." He trots a bit closer slowly, carefully at first. "You wouldn't know, after all."
You feel rather confused. He said that. he didn't want to kill you, but you don't see why he would be hesitant to do this. It honestly seemed like the best choice. "Uhh, excuse me?"
The unicorn looks over you, seeming to take in every little detail, his inspection unnerving you. "The choices follow the tradition of my kind. I hate that I must have decieved you... But I must obey. To break the code would be the most obscene violation. But you have made your choice. And now I am forced to carry out your will. You see, human... You won't become a unicorn in the way you expect. We are not rare for lack of trying. If we could simply just make any creature into another of us we would. However, creating a new unicorn requires arcane knowledge and power that is beyond us, or anything else we know of. We believe it to be impossible. Instead you are going to become a unicorn in a different manner..."
Your head feels light, swimming almost as you try to make sense of just what the creature is trying to tell you. "What do you mean?"
He looks straight into your eyes. "Overall what is most important is to ensure your silence so you don't threaten us. Outside of death, this is the most effective way. You are going to become a part of my body. It is much easier to bind you to me and transmute your flesh into my own. You will still be aware. You will keep your memories, personality, and senses, your whole being locked away within me. You will still live. But only as part of my anatomy. I'm sorry. I'll try my best to take care of you. I cant kill you or turn you into something else now. It is now my job to enforce your choice, once I find a place for you."
