Dear Diary,
Last night, I had this weird dream.
I was sitting in class, and Bobby was going to pull my hair. As he was reaching for my hair, he screamed, and his skin turned a weird shade of pink as his clothing started to fall off of him. As he shrunk, fur began growing on him in places, and his nose started to wriggle fearfully. At the end of the change, he crawled out of his clothing, and he had turned into a mouse...I think a striped field mouse, to be exact.
I had morphed all the way into a cat, and before I knew what was going on, I had Bobby on his back, pinned under my paw as he tried to writhe around. I just held him and held him, and eventually, he stopped struggling. His body went limp, and he just looked right back into my eyes, staring.
This morning, I woke up, finding myself covered in sweat, and the Change had crept a little more up my legs. My fingernails had turned all the way into claws, and I can retract them now.
Bobby wasn't at school today, so I asked around. It turns out that he's been at his Change doctor all night and all day. He had turned all the way into a mouse, same as I saw in my dream, and it had taken a whole crew of medics to figure out where he had tried to hide. They say a specialist is coming in later this week to try to shift him back.
But was that dream really what I think, or am I only thinking the dream happened that way because I found out later that Bobby was a mouse? I'm not sure. Anyway, thanks for hearing me out before bed, and I truly do remain faithfully
Your loyal friend and confidant,
Amanda"
