"Change me back. Right .... NOW!" said Mark angrily.
Anna laughed uproariously, holding onto her sides and crying.
"Stop it! This isn't funny!" yelled Mark.
"Sorry, I can't help it. I mean, you sound just like her, " said Anna after she wiped away the tears from her eyes. "But I can't change you back. Not yet, at least. You have to wait 12 hours before you can use it again."
"What?!? What the hell am I supposed to do now?"
"You can still come with me," said Anna.
"What?! You can't be serious. How can I go like this?" asked Mark.
"It's simple, silly. This is a girl's camp, after all. You can just come with me and pretend to be one of the campers. After 12 hours, I will find you and change you into an older girl so you can be a counselor like me. See, no problem," said Anna.
"I don't know," said Mark nervously. He didn't like feeling so small and vulnerable.
"Come on. What's the big deal? You just have to hang out with some 12 year old girls for a little while. Don't tell me you are afraid of some little girls?" said Anna.
Mark blushed. "It's not that. It just feels weird. And what if something goes wrong?"
Anna sighed.
"Fine. If you want to chicken out, I will let you have the medallion and you can just use it to change back into yourself after 12 hours. But you will have to find a way to get home yourself. I have to get on the bus to camp in just a few minutes," said Anna.
Mark looked down at his small feet. He didn't want to disappoint Anna, but he was really worried about staying like this. But the thought of trying to get home like this was equally daunting. He certainly couldn't drive, so he would either have to walk or take the city bus. Both of those options seemed really dangerous. And how would he explain who he was to his family? They would certainly wonder why a twelve year old girl was hanging out alone in his room. Then again, maybe he could just hide out somewhere with the medallion until it was time to change. Maybe in Kate's room? Where was she anyway?
Anna sat down beside Mark and gently rubbed his back.
"Listen, I know this is a little scary, but it will work out. I promise. And if you come to camp with me I know you will have a good time. I'll make sure of it, " said Anna with a sly smile, holding up Jennifer's cheerleading outfit.
A loud horn honked outside the house.
"Crap, that's my ride, " said Anna as she gathered up her bags. "So are you coming or what?"
Mark considered his options, then decided to .....
