Suddenly, he dove into his old shoe, hoping it would muffle any sound he made. He scrambled toward the toe of his shoe and sneezed and coughed as quietly as he could. He prayed that she would not hear him from under the bed and inside a shoe.
When he had his breath back under control, he listened for any sound from his giantess younger sister. As he waited, he became aware of the smell around him. How could he have not noticed before that his feet stank this much? It made him gag, but fear kept him from escaping the shoe. He lay there, trapped in his own foot odor.
"Hey," he heard Judy say in the distance. "What's that?"
"Oh, crap," he whispered, fearing that she had heard him. He heard her stance shift and then the ground shook. Jim realized that must have been from the impact of her knees on the floor.
