As Ric and Josh were hurled through time, they noticed some movement in the surrounding walls of the vortex. At first, it was hard to tell what they were looking at; after a while, it hit them--they were watching various events of history.
"Are you seeing this?!" Ric asked.
"How could I NOT see it?!" Josh replied.
Each event the boys saw in the swirling walls of the vortex were various historical events; the farther they traveled, the further from the present the events occurred. The boys watched each event fade into the walls, play out for a short while, then disappear back into the thick mist. Again and again did this cycle repeat as the boys were taken farther and farther back in time.
"How long does this take?" Ric asked.
"I don't know, but you were the one who cast the spell," Josh said.
"Fair point," Ric replied.
"When do YOU think we'll get there?" Josh asked.
"Well, I think that it takes a while to travel through time either way," Ric said.
"Well, hopefully not too long," Josh said.
In fact, the trip did not take much longer at all. Soon enough, the boys saw the event that they were trying to get to in the first place. The power of the spell pulled them toward the wall of the vortex, right into the past event.
If your choice for the boys' destination does not appear below, add it as an option yourself!
