Jared grinned as he looked down at his tablet. The luridly muscled man in latex gear was making him hard. Yeah, he drew it, it was his fantasy guy, and he wished he wasn't wearing a jockstrap right now. He reached to adjust himself. There was a peal of thunder from outside. The lights flickered. The surge protector sparked and failed. Malevolent curious eyes seemed to spy on him from everywhere and nowhere. He shook his head trying to shake his feeling. He looked back at his sketch. It seemed different somehow?
He decided to fill in more shiny black on the picture, and clicked on the inkwell. It sloshed. The digital inkwell sloshed! Black digital ink splashed out of the tablet and on to Jared's jockstrap pouch. Melted plastic? He jumped back. Like the scene from Fantasia, where the water is overflowing during the Sorcerer's Apprentice sequence, black liquid gushed out of the tablet flooding Jared's room. The floor was at least a foot or two under the dark glimmering substance. It wasn't really liquid, it moved like liquid light. Maybe the lightning? wondered Jared. Maybe if he could reboot the computer and tablet? The computer was half submerged in the quasi liquid standing under his desk. Hm?
Jared didn't notice the black lines moving from the liquid to define every line and shadow in his room, and on his body. Only when he was contemplating a jump from his bed to mirrored dresser by the door, did Jared notice his reflection. He wasn't human - well, he was, but he was a drawing of a human. His whole room was an illustration. His mind drifted back to that ancient Ah-a Video Take On Me. It wasn't real. He must be dreaming? Or maybe a coma? Did the lightning strike him?
Jared scooted across his bed to stare out the window. The world outside the window was now a drawing. Had he done something to the universe? Or had he been sucked into his computer? He didn't think either seemed reasonable. He looked at the digital stylus in his hand. He drew a little butterfly in the air. It fluttered away. He started to follow to catch it, and nearly fell into the black murk surrounding his bed. It would soon be overflowing on to his bed. He needed a boat or raft or pool float to get to the door. Jared started drawing.
