You uneasily take a few steps back, looking at the dragon all the while. She seems to be thinking hard, before she turns and looks at you with a gleam in her eyes.
"Since you have disturbed my kingdom, you now have no choice but to join it." She cries. You let your mouth hang open. "No, please, just let me leave! I don't want to be a dragon!" You cry. She throws her head back and laughs. "Do you really think I would bestow a gift like dragonhood on a mere commoner like you? No, I have something better in mind..." She says slyly, before pulling her head back as if gearing up for something.
"NO!" you scream, when you realize what she is about to do. But before you can stop her, she opens her mouth and lets loose a long jet of blinding-hot fire, which hits you squarely.
The pain is unbearable, it's like being stabbed with a thousand red-hot needles. You cry out, but this only serves to have the fire travel down your throat. Despite the appearance and heat, it doesn't act much like fire. In fact, it almost seems like some sort of liquid as it slowly travels over your front half before moving around to your back half, completely engulfing you in a firey, painful inferno.
You flail or arms and attempt to run, but you are rooted to the spot. Suddenly, without warning, you begin to feel yourself shrinking. You watch through the flames as the dragon, smiling smugly, gets taller and taller until you're about a quarter of the size you were.
The fire moods your body, drawing your arms in awkwardly until you look like someone doing the chicken dance. Your hands melt into your body and long golden feathers grow over your deformed arms as they rapidly turn into wings. In turn, you feel pricing st the bae of your spine as long golden feathers push out, forming a tail. Your feet crack and split into clawed talons, knees reversing and legs becoming broomstick thin.
Your whole body below your neck and above your legs melts in the fire into a sort of round, lumpy mess, which quickly plumps and fattens up as it's covered in golden feathers. Your neck stretches and becomes as thick as your body covered in golden feathers as well. In a final note, your head shrinks, your eyes move to the side of your head, your mouth and teeth become hard and pointed, sloping down into a beak, as everything is covered din golden feathers and a thin layer of fire. You feel a pressure as you ruffle your feathers and involuntary throw your head back, emitting a loud bird's screech.
Your head flops back down and you try to scream, but only more screeches come out. The fire long ago stopped being painful, but it still hovers around. "As your punishment, you will join my flock of phoenix guards. If you behave I MAY change you back. One day."
You try to protest, but are distracted when you notice some birdseed lying on the cloud in front of you. You involuntarily bob your head down and begin picking at it with your beak, crunching the kernels. You suddenly snap back and look up at the dragon towering above you in horror.
