While Ashley and Jennifer deserved to be turned back into the brats they really were, Kellie was a bigger priority. He headed over to her neighbor's house and knocked on the door. It didn't take long for Maggie to open the door. "I'm sorry, but I need to see Kellie," said Katie quickly.
"She just ran to her room, crying," said Maggie, "What happened?"
"A pair of girls from school made fun of her," said Katie. Based on the way they acted, there was little doubt that Ashley and Jennifer were popular girls at the high school that she and Kellie were both attending now. Or at least until Katie sent them back to 1st grade with a vengeance.
"Oh dear," said Maggie, "Girls can be so cruel at your age. What did they tell her?"
"I...I can't tell you right now," said Katie, partially because she wanted to respect Kellie's privacy, but also because she herself was still a little confused.
"Well, you can try and talk with her, but I'm not so sure she'll want to see you," said Maggie, allow Katie inside.
Katie headed up to Kellie's room. She could hear Kellie sobbing inside. Katie gently knocked on the door and called, "Kellie, are you alright?"
"Go away!" cried Kellie's voice.
"Kellie, you shouldn't let what those two said get to you. They're a lot more immature than they look," said Katie.
"But they knew and they...they told you," said Kellie's voice.
"That you wanted to kiss me? Big deal," said Katie dismissively.
"Don't you get it?" snapped Kellie's voice.
"No, I don't," said Katie, rubbing her forehead, "I really wish I knew they meant."
Just then, Katie felt a tingle in her mind. She belatedly realized she was still wearing the ring. She hadn't meant to use it, but the ring was granting her wish. Katie closed her eyes as a rush of information hit it. While she had the body of a 16-year old, she hadn't aged her mind past 12 years. New information began filling her mind, namely about her new life. New memories of living with her aunt and growing up together with Kellie appeared.
As Katie's mind supplied new memories of her high school years, it was indeed obvious that Ashley and Jennifer were two of the most popular girls there. And it was pretty obvious the popularity had went straight to their heads, seeing as how they treated other people so nastily. They've had it out in particular for Kellie and now Katie was understanding why.
As her mind was progressed to that of a 16-year old's, she gained more knowledge about puberty and sex. And looking back at her memories now, there were several small, but obvious signs that Kellie was possibly homosexual. Not only that, but Kellie probably did have a crush on Katie.
As her mental progression ended, Katie was left reeling with the implications. She had always wondered why Kellie as her mother never remarried after her dad... Wait, had she ever had a dad? Kellie had never made it clear whether he was dead or just gone. She couldn't even remember any pictures of him around the house. If Kellie really was a lesbian, she probably never found anyone she wanted to marry. Katie could have just been the result of a visit to the sperm bank. And since Kellie had been regressed in mind and body, she might just be now discovering her orientation.
But the big question for Katie was did she feel any attraction towards Kellie. A part of her was disgusted because Kellie was her mother. But Katie reminded herself that wasn't the case anymore. Katie and Kellie were two friends who lived next door to each other, no relation. Now that she thought about it, Kellie looked more like her new parents than she did to her former sister Lisa. But did Katie inherit the same orientation as her former mother? She looked down inside and searched her feelings before finding the answer...
