Matt's thoughts were interrupted by a knock on the door, followed by the sound of it opening. Caught by surprise, Matt quickly turned around to see his dad, Mike.
"Hey Matt," Mike said. "Did someone ring the doorbell a while ago?"
"Yes, but... it was nothing much," Matt replied. He wasn't sure if he should tell his dad the truth. Mike was a caring father even though he was usually quite busy with work, and Matt felt comfortable sharing things with him, but Matt was undecided on whether to keep his knowledge of something as powerful as the Chronivac to himself.
"Alright. Hey, what's this?" The opened package in the corner of the room caught Mike's eye.
Crap! Matt panicked. He was at risk of being found out. Should he come clean about the Chronivac?
