The next morning, Daryll had to run off to work, but his ten-year old son was always able to take care of himself. Nate was even allowed to invite over his best friend Zach, who was eleven; today, Nate would do so for a special and secret reason.
When Zach came over, Nate explained everything that had happened last night; of course, Zach's mind was blown. One trip down the stairs and across the basement later, the two unlocked the bookcase and stepped into the mist of the room. Zach then watched as Nate began to build up a body out of the various body parts in the room. The body's torso was twice as wide as either of the boys', and Zach asked what Nate was going to do. First, Nate took his own head off his ow body and set it down on the body's right-hand side. Zach watched as Nate's old body became lifeless and the new one come alive under Nate's control. Then, Nate took Zach's head off of his body and put it down on the new body's left-hand side. Needless to say, Zach was surprised.
"Cool!" Zach said. "What else can we do?"
"Anything we want to in here," Nate replied. "Plus, there are all sorts of costumes and decorations in the trunks under the bed."
After putting their heads back on their own bodies, and taking off [most] of their clothes, the two boys began experimenting with all kinds of forms, changing back to their original forms first. Zach had four arms, Nate had a long neck, Zach had a long tail instead of legs (but could still stand as though he still had legs), Nate had a longer/taller torso, and so on.
After a while, the two boys decided to put their habit of being conjoined siblings into effect while in the room. At the same time, Nate wanted to fulfill the promise he had made to two of the other heads he had befriended last night, in which he promised to bring them back to life today. Nate built a new body with the body parts on the shelves--the wide torso and shoulders were enough for four heads at the most. In fact, Nate first put his own head at the far right-hand side of the body, the neck fusing and his old body dropping lifeless upon contact. Then, Nate took one of the heads from last night--the one he named Benedict--and placed it next to his own; Benedict snapped back to life instantaneously. Then, Zach pulled his own head off his body to join Nate and Benedict as part of the wide body. Once Zach was fully attached to the body and his old one lifeless, Nate reached one of the two arms--he was sharing them with two other guys, so it was hard to tell who exactly they would have belonged to--and took the head he had named Arnold. Arnold was set down next to Zach, and the four heads moved their shared body to look in the large mirror: their heads from their left hand to right were Arnold, Zach, Benedict, and Nate. Below their necks, the torso was a regular torso that was much wider at the shoulders and the waist, and the four shared the two arms and two legs.
