The Zoo.
That's was its name, and after going through the place, others could easily imagine why. Fortunately though, this wasn't some cold, unfeeling facility.
The Zoo is a massive outdoor and indoor complex, with various pens designed for its inhabitants to live comfortably, if confined. The purpose of the facility is twofold:
1. To provide a comfortable and humane living for those changed by the eco-bombs, despite their Going Native status.
2. To do research on those changed.
The first objective was decided heavily by the public. The general consensus was if any person was changed, they'd probably want they would want in a possible after life, peace and comfort. The other was that it was not yet 100% proven that the Natives, which was the short term for those who suffered from Going Native, really lost themselves. Till it was completely proven, no one would take the risk of causing undue suffering of death, survival, or similar events.
The second object seemed natural. No one was really sure what they were looking for beyond what Elaine had already research. The natives just seem to be 100% animals with zero signs of any unnatural alteration, including the bombs that caused the transformations in the first place. The best they could was run standard tests periodically to see if they could catch something odd anyways, especially behaviorally.
Other then the research component, The Zoo was pretty much like its namesake. A managerie of animals of all shapes, sizes, and environments to best suit them no matter how exotic...
