"Wait, what about my older brother and sister?" Marcus asked.
"You're right," Jake said. "We should definitely let them be part of this experience."
"Well, I think we should bring it up gradually," Dan said to Jake, gesturing to their shared body.
Marcus and Jake agreed--it would be a shock to find two brothers conjoined, even if the awareness setting was modified. Regardless, the boys used the Chronivac to change Dan and Jake back to their old selves--clothes, necklaces and all. Then, they packed up the laptop, went back downstairs from the loft, and out the cabin door. After walking down the hill for a few minutes, the boys reached the Kaiser family's cabin, walked up to the small porch, and knocked on the door. Kate answered the door and explained that their parents had gone down to the check-in as well, so it was just the five of them.
The first floor was one large room that was divided into a living room and kitchen, with a staircase down a lower level near the front door and a spiral staircase in the vicinity of the the kitchen. There were two doors near the back--one to a laundry room, the other was a hallway connecting a bathroom and a bedroom for the parents. Downstairs there was a large room as well, the one that Kate was using as a personal apartment--she was going to be off at college soon, so she wanted to get used to living alone if she did not have a roommate there. Jason was sleeping on the couch, while Marcus had his own loft at the top of the spiral staircase. The five decided to go up there to talk about Dan and Jake's new computer program. Needless to say, Kate and Jason were a little blown away, so Marcus shut the loft's door so that the boys could explain everything. After this, the two calmed down--in fact, they were intrigued.
"So, what should we change?" Kate asked.
"Well, we may need a big space to practice this," Jake said.
Dan asked, "You mean, how in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix when they used the Room of Requirement to--"
"SPOILER ALERT!" Jason shouted. "I haven't gotten that far in the series yet. I just started that book."
"Sorry," Dan apologized.
"What if we use the room downstairs? We can clear out my stuff and use it." Kate suggested.
The boys agreed and the group went downstairs. After moving Kate's things out of the room and the furniture against the downstairs walls, the room was ready.
"It's too bad we can't do this for long," Jason said. "We have to go back home to Pittsburg soon."
"Actually, we did find something about vacation settings on this thing," Jake said, "and residential locations."
"You mean, you can extend our vacation or change where we live?" Kate asked.
"Just a theory," Marcus said.
"Well, let's just test the thing on us or this furniture for now," Dan said.
