Jake was the first to test the Chronivac. His idea came from some superheroes he had seen on TV shows, and both he and Dan enjoyed watching them. Jake opened his scan in the program and made some edits to his body, but none of them were currently visible, even though Jake had made sure that only the five of them were aware of any changes and did not believe that Jake had always been in his current form.
The only changes that could be seen right away were Jake's clothes--they became a one-piece purple suit, covering all of Jake except his head and neck, and blue armor over Jake's chest, upper back, and shoulders. Of course, no one knew what this was for, but they wouldn't for a while, because Kate's phone was ringing, and she left it upstairs. While she went to get her phone, and Jason and Marcus to get a snack, Dan stayed behind--and saw that Jake was now editing some of Dan's details. Dan acquired similar clothing as Jake's, except without the armor and his suit was blue. Dan then asked what Jake was doing, and why they had new clothes. Jake simply told Dan to watch.
Confused, Dan watched. Jake, pulled his arms back and hunched over, as if he was going to flex, but instead his arms shot forward--and Jake's torso was growing! Jake seemed perfectly balanced on his legs as his torso shot across the room, past Dan, and his arms touched the wall. Dan was surprised, but not as much as Jason, Marcus, and Kate when they came back down. Jason ran over to Jake's elongated torso and touched it to see if it was real; in response, Jake proved his new power by putting his torso up straight after wrapping Jason in really long arms. Realizing that this may be a bit freaky, Jake unraveled and retracted his arms so that Jason could drop to the floor safely. As Dan watched Jake contort his torso into a curve, he felt jealous; the showing-off was a bit much. As his jealousy overcame him, Dan stretched his torso up towards the ceiling, as his arm went out to knock Jake's top-half to the ground. After hitting the floor, Jake flipped over as his torso retracted.
It was clear to the others that a fight was breaking out. Dan still stood at about twelve feet as Jake got up on his legs and stretched out his torso again, rising up towards Dan's head. Dan got out of the way as Jake's upper torso curved into a loop, twisting around so that Jake was face to face with his twin brother. As Kate and Jason watched, Dan's torso became a sort of L-shape while Jake's was a sideways S-shape. Then, Jake lunged out toward Dan, who dodged Jake and wrapped him in HIS arms and torso. However, Jake simply swelled his arms to force Dan to lose his grip; as a result, Jake was easily able to swat Dan away. Jake and Dan then began to stretch out their torsos and limbs so much that they were beginning to flood the room with their jumpsuit-covered rubbery flesh.
Then, all a sudden, Jake and Dan stopped--they were unable to stretch any further! Against their own will, their limbs and torsos slowly retracted back to normal, and their clothes changed back as well. When the transformation stopped, they were completely back to normal. It turns out that Marcus didn't want his best friends to fight, so he used the Chronivac to change them back to normal. After admitting that they both got a bit carried away, Jake and Dan apologized to each other and their friends.
