"Well you have... you have fox ears on your head." Jamie pointed out to Kim. "WHAT!" She cried out as felt her head and found her human ears missing with fox ears on the top of her head. Jennifer had calmed down some but was still chucking to herself. "Stop that will you." Kim told Jennifer. "Besides, I don't think fruit can do this." Said Kim. "Actually they could do worse. But it does look hilarious." Exclaimed Jennifer.
"But I don't want a pair of fox ears. It may be cool but still." Said Kim. "At least I had a good sleep." She started to examine her ears on a small mirror once they got the caravan moving. She was able to control them and they had red fur. Her hair was slowly turning red around her new ears.
Kim didn't understand about the enchanted tree. "I don't get it! Who would just enchant a tree to give people only Fox ears and nothing more?" Jennifer was now smiling even wider as she said, "it Looks like the ears isn't the only thing you've got that it's the least of your problems."
Kim frowned, and looked herself over, not quite sure what Jennifer meant, but a little nervous. Jennifer was having a riot at this, it couldn't be good... "What are you getting at then!? I'm not seeing anything!" Jennifer chuckled, still unable to hold back the grin. Just give it a moment, I can feel the magical aura building.. oh, this is going to be interesting, I can tell."
Kim scowled, "Yeah, now you're just shouting bullshit! Why don't you stop talking about auras for two minutes and help me get rid of-" and then she felt it. Her boots. SHIT. HER BOOTS. She plopped down on her rear to remove them, yelping when she landed on her new addition in the back, "DAMNNED THING!" She moved quick to get it out of her pants and into a move comfortable position, then was back to removing her boots, which were feeling rather tight, and she could feel her heel steadily pressing harder and harder against the back.
She grunted as she tugged the first boot off, then gasped at what she saw... What was at the end of her leg was no longer the foot she was accustomed to, and was getting further and further from.. a sudden pain in her cramped toes reminded her of the remaining boot, which she hurriedly yanked off. She watched in shock as her feet pushed longer and longer, thinner and thinner, as her toes morphed into small, tighter digits, and her big toe seemed to shrink away into nothing. These were big clumsy hairless paws! She looked to her companions in shock, finding a surprised and worried Jamie, and Jennifer just barely stifling her laughter. Kim's expression turned to anger. It must be Jennifer's doing! Apples can't do all this, it seemed crazy!
"VERY FUNNY!! Now quit it! I'm not exactly keen on keeping these, asshole!!"
"Heheheheheh heh.. hah... I'm not doing anything to you! I even warned you those apples were enchanted! I've been trying to help you! And anyway, even if I wanted to curse you, which honestly something to shut your mouth would be lovely, but I couldn't curse you! My Magic doesn't work that way, cursing isn't exactly my thing. I've focused on sensing magic and scrying, I'm a wayfinder. That's why I'm working with you and Jamie."
Kim rolled her eyes and scoffed, giving up on the argument for now.... damn her foot itched. She scratched a bit more, looking down.. then stopped. Ah. That makes sense. Fur was growing all along her newly changed set of paws, a shade of red to match her ears, though slightly darker around the toes. Then she felt a pressure in her nails, and she moved her foot so she could see... seems these things are going all the way. Her nails grew out, long and curved, quickly becoming predator's claws. She frowned, and flexed her toes... seems she'd have to live with this a few more days then. She watched as pads grew in along the bottoms of her new paws, and sighed, moving to try and stand when pain appeared from her tail bone. She groaned in pain as a fur less tail grew out of it and then grew fur on it. She looked at it and sighed before looking at her friends.
"Anyone feel like helping this way at least then? Or still busy getting your kicks?" Jamie was the first to come give Kim a hand up, shaking his head. "Let's 'ope ya do learn from this fer once then. Steady does it." Kim frowned, and found her balance easy enough. She caught herself using the tail to help. Seems there's no choice but to keep it out now. She grumbled, then got back in their cart. "Well lets go then! I don't want to stay like this any longer than I have to!" Her companions shook their heads and obliged. Maybe she wouldn't learn after all.
They continued along their trail, but Kim was distracted as usual. Sure, her complaints for food had grown much more infrequent, but this was because she was too busy playing with her new additions. Wagging her tail, flexing her claws... it was all strange and new. Hell, she's never had fur before! But then as she explored, she felt a now familiar pressure...
