Kelly searched the house. All the other animals were out by the lake, but she was sure Mimi was still here. The only place she hadn't checked was her own room.
Why not? thought Kelly and scampered off to her room, where she thought Mimi had to be. When she got to her room, Kelly shouted in a laughably high-pitched voiced, "Mimi! Are you there?"
Mimi giggled at the sound of Kelly's voice.
What happened to her voice? thought Mimi. Did she swallow a helium pump?
"Well, you know how you always said that you were tired of being the smallest?" Kelly said with a smile. "Well, come out and see! I think you'll be surprised to find that you're no longer the..."
Mimi opened the door for her now smaller friend and revealed a human girl towering over Kelly like a giantess.
"...s-s-smallest?" Kelly finally managed to say.
Mimi crouched down on the floor, trying to get eye-level with Kelly.
"Kelly, is that you?"
Kelly nodded in newfound fear of her now bigger friend.
