Katie once again found herself running through the morning dew barefoot. Anxious over what to say Katie also was slightly embarassed by her appearance.
Katie's progression seemed to be taking a little bit longer than Lisas. She had chanced a look at herself before leaving and placed herself a little past her 14th birthday. While she was almost her original height again she could see that her hips were narrower while her face appeared younger amd her breasts smaller. As she turned onto Kellie's front lawn she could see Kellie waiting for her.
Katie waved timidly as she approached. "Hey Kellie," she said meekly, noticing her voice was slightly higher. "Hows everything."
Kellie looked Katie over with a critical eye. "You look a little different Kat," she stated. "Did you do something with your hair or lose weight?"
Katie sighed, blushing slightly. Lying to Kellie was not an option at this point. She had come to apologize and admit she was wrong. Although she worried Kellie may not approve she decided to be honest with her.
"Well," she started. "Heres the thing. Lisa wanted to cheer me up so she used the ring to make me and her 10 last night. We had a sleepover and I feel alot better. The reason I look different is I'm only 14 right now."
Kellies eyes bulged as she continued to stare at Katie. "Your 14," she exclaimed.
"I'm almost 15," she whined.
Kellie cracked a smile putting Katie a little more at ease. "Well you look cute and besides I kind of like being the older one, your usually a month older than me."
"Thanks Kel," Katie said as she felt herself become 15.
"So what did you want to talk about," Kellie asked.
Katie sighed as she looked at Kellie. "You were right," she moaned. "I was out of control, mad with power. I....I didnt listen to you or anyone else. Im so...so..sorry. I...."
Katie trailed off as tears began to fall from her eyes. She now hung her head low, crying softly. "The ring....its power is kind of intoxicating. I've been thinking about it and, well I realize that if I'm going to have this power...I need your help in keeping it under control."
Kellie looked at Katie with a critical eye. She had beem waiting to hear this from Katie, now that she had she felt awful about what Katie had been going through all week. Kellie had missed Katie immensely and had sulked for most of the week. Judging by the way Katie was acting she could see the girl had been tearing herself up all week.
Kellie walked towards Katie now and higged her tightly. "Apology accepted,"Kellie whispered. "Ive missed you too, plus I always wanted to date a younger girl."
Katie half laughed, half cried as she hugged Kellie. "Your insufferable sometimes," she whispered.
Katie and Kellie stepped back from eachother and smiled. Katie gave herself a quick look over finding she was 16 once again.
The two girls now sat on Kellies porch talking softly about how miserable their week was and how much they missed eachother. Kellie's interest seemed to perk up as she heard of Katie and Lisas sleepover. The two girls coming to the conclusion that they would have to try that sometime.
"So," Katie said. "From now on when it comes to the ring, we do this together. If were going to make any changes we both have to agree."
Kellie nodded in agreement. "Sounds like a good plan," she said. "And just so you know I give you permission for life if you and Lisa ever want to have another sleepover."
Katie smiled. "Thanks Kel," she said. "Next time we do I'll give you a call. I think you would look absolutely adorable with Skittle toes."
Both girls now laughed before standing up. As they looked at eachother the two exchanged a tender kiss before hugging eachother tightly. "I'll call you after I get dressed okay," Kellie said sweetly. Katie nodded happily and smiled.
"Sounds good Kel," she said. "I love you."
"I love you too Kat," Kellie whispered. "And I missed you so, so much."
The two girls waved goodbye as they made their way towards their homes, happy that the worst fight of their lives was finally over.
