The weekend passed quietly for Katie and Kellie. Instead of useing the ring the two decided to focus on themselves and their relationship. It proved to be a good idea as the two grew closer. As they now got on the bus Monday morning they smiled, once again sitting in their usual seat.
Exiting the bus Katie and Kellie noticed Mary Elise and Samantha waiting for them. The two girls had noticeably worried looks on their faces as they looked at Katie and Kellie. Smiling the two teens put their fears to rest by takimg eachothers hands.
"Finally," Mary Elise sighed. "We were really starting to worry about you two."
Samantha smiled before embracing the two teens in a hug. "So happy you two are back together," she whimpered. "I hated watching you two fight." The four friends now hugged before heading into school.
Katie and Kellie's reunion seemed to be the talk of first period. Both girls noticed people smiling and saying congratulations as they walked through the hall. Blushing slightly the girls thanked everyone before steppimg into the bathroom.
"I didn't realize people actually cared about our relationship that much," Kellie said as she checked her appearance in a mirror. Katie smiled as she leaned against a sink. "Me either," she said. "Guess everyone thinks we make a cute couple."
The soumd of the bathroom door opening caused the girls to turn. Frowning they saw Ashley and Jennifer enter the bathroom, closing the door behind them.
"What do you two want," Katie muttered, her body tensing in anticipation of a fight. Ashley and Jennifer remained quiet both girls looking down at the floor.
"Listen," Ashley muttered. "We just, um, wanted to say. Ugh...."
"We wanted to say were happy you two patched things up," Jenmifer finished.
Katie and Kellie gaped at their enemies unable to answer. Ashley and Jennifer sighed as they tried to finish what they were saying.
"Look," Jennifer said. "I know this is weird coming from us but we kind of admire you two okay."
"Yeah," Ashley added. "We really respect the fact you two are so close. It always seems like nothing could break you two up. We....we were really sad when you two broke up last week.
"You two breaking up kind threw us for a loop," Jennifer said. "I mean you two are perfect for eachother. If you two can't make then is their any hope for the rest of us?"
The four girls now stood in silence. Katie and Kellie shocked their worst enemies were treating them kindly while Ashley and Jennifer continued to search for words.
"We're sorry we've been so bitchy," Ashley mumbled.
"Yeah were sorry," Jennifer said. "We really do admire you two. Its hard finding a friend that sticks with you through good times and bad."
Ashley and Jennifer looked at eachother smiling before taking eachothers hands. "We just wanted to say congratulations and sorry," they said. "We'll see you around okay?"
Katie and Kellie nodded in stunned silence as Ashley and Jennifer looked at them. Without warning the two mean girls approached, giving Katie and Kellie a quick hug before exiting the bathroom.
"Did that just happen," Kellie asked, still shocked.
Katie shrugged her shoulders, slightly unsure about what happened. It seemed even their worst enemies appreciated the girls relationship.
