Not wanting to get in any trouble Kelly gave the gun to the teacher. She then returned to her locker to get the rest of her books. Professor Fields walked down the hall way towards the principal's office to report Kelly's infraction but the gun slipped out of her hands.
"Dammit!" she said just before the gun hit the floor.
It gave off a blinding flash of light and a light-speed beam flew down the hallway straight at Kelly! The beam hit Kelly just as she closed her locker door. The professor picked up the gun off the floor. She was curious about why it had just flashed all of a sudden.
"This is a strange toy," Professor Fields said. "I should examine it further before I turn it in to the principal."
So she took off for her own classroom.
Kelly felt weird as she walked down the hallway. But she thought maybe it was a headache and continued to walk down the hallway.
Something was wrong with the hallway. It seemed much longer that usual. And the lockers all looked very tall, much taller that usual. Then she heard loud thunderous noises. When she tuned around she saw a pair of giant shoes heading straight for her.
What, she thought to herself, while running out of the way of the murderous pair of heeled shoes.
Kelly dropped her books and turned just in time to watch them be smashed into dust. She gasped when she realized who the shoes belonged to. It was Professor Fields who had almost smashed her into mush!
What happened to me, Kelly thought while she looked herself over.
The only thing that was wrong with her was that she had somehow shrunk. She yelled out to the Professor trying to get her attention but her tiny voice just didn’t carry far enough. She let a long sigh, which was interrupted by the sound of her watch beeping.
Oh great! It's 9:00AM. The next period starts in five minutes, she thought.
If the other students saw her, she would be a laughing stock. Then again, she needed someone’s help. She could just wait in the halls and find someone she knew that could help her. Or she could just hide out in the empty classroom across the hall and think things over. Either way she had to chose fast.
