Just as expected, the bell rang and students filled the hallways.
Kelly stepped to the side to avoid being stepped on. But even she knew what she was doing was dangerous. Like everyone, she had her fair share of friends and enemies. Also, if she was found by someone she didn't know she might never make it home again. Restlessly she watched as giant feet of all shapes, colors, and sizes went by.
"It's no good," Kelly said staring up in the air. "I can't see their faces."
She goofed, realizing that she couldn't tell who any of these people were. They could be friend, foe .... or neither - it was all completely random! She tried to listen to their voices, but her tiny ears couldn't make out their loud voices.
This was the worse idea ever, Kelly said to herself.
Kelly was so frustrated she approached the nearest object and gave it a swift kick.
"Oh my gosh!" A loud voice above Kelly yelled out. "What is that - an animal?!"
Kelly apparently had kicked the foot of another student. That student happened to be one of Kelly's friends - Autumn Winters, who was the biggest air-head in the school.
But she was also a good friend.
"I take that back - this was the best idea ever!" Kelly said as she waved to Autumn from the floor.
