Carefully, Rachel removed the paper and opened the lid. Inside the box, she found a collar accompanied by four different tags.
“Um, what?” Rachel said, slightly perplexed, “why in the world would someone send me a collar?”
After a moment, she proceeded to turn the box over, dumping everything onto the table in the process. Being unable to find any return address, she sighed and set the box aside. Rachel stared at the collar for a minute before she remembered her pancakes were still on the stove. She jumped to her feet and hurried to the kitchen to find that the flapjacks currently in the pan to be perfectly cooked. A small sigh of relief escaped her lips as she put the pancakes on the plate to cool off with the rest of them. Then she returned to the family room and sat down before inspecting the collar and tags. Each tag was made of stainless steel and were in the shape of different animal heads. One cat, one dog, one fox, and one rabbit. Her name was engraved on the back of each tag in beautiful cursive. Then she grabbed the collar that was made of the softest material on the planet.
“Oh my,” Rachel said, “this collar is so soft!”
“Morning Rachel,” a calm voice said.
Rachel jumped slightly and let out a startled squeak. After catching her breath, she turned to see her mother.
“MOM!” Rachel exclaimed, “don’t do that! You scared me half to death!”
“Oh, sorry dear,” her mother said, “what’s this?”
“Hmm? Oh, this,” Rachel said, “it was delivered a few minutes ago and doesn’t have a return address.”
“A collar and tags,” her mother said, “interesting. And you said that there wasn’t a return address?”
“Yeah,” Rachel said, reaching for the box, “it just has my name and address.”
“Hmm,” her mother said before inspecting the tags, “how about this one?”
“What?” Rachel asked, looking up at her mother who was holding out one of the tags.
“I think you should wear this one,” her mother said.
“Um, no thanks,” Rachel said.
“Why not?” her mother asked, “I think you’d look cute with a collar on.”
Cute. Well, Rachel did like cute things, so she reluctantly accepted the tag from her mother. Then her mother wandered to the kitchen while Rachel attached the tag to the collar and placed it around her neck. The instant she heard the collar’s clasp click shut, her whole body was engulfed by tingles. Then she began to shrink. It took about a minute before Rachel stopped getting smaller. Tangled in her clothes, she wrestled with the fabric until she had freed herself. Once Rachel had removed her clothes, she inspected her body. From what she could see, the only real difference was her height and the size of her breasts. After a moment, the succulent aroma of spices drifted up her nose.
“Smells like Mom’s making eggs to go with the pancakes,” Rachel said before she noticed that the box, the other tags, and her clothes had mysteriously vanished. “What? Where did-”
“Rachel, breakfast is ready,” her mother called.
“Just a second,” Rachel replied before hurrying up to her room.
The only thing different about her room was her closet. All of her other clothes had shrunk to fit her now four-foot tall body. After a minute of pondering what to wear, she grabbed a powder blue sundress. Then she went to her dresser for a new pair of panties. However, before she could put her clothes on, her reflection in her full-length mirror caught her attention. She had a tail and her ears had slid up the side of her head slightly and had morphed. Other than that, she looked the same.
