Jen guided them to the kitchen, now and then having to gently touch Shiva's muzzle to keep her focused on looking ahead. She made her way to the kitchen, and opened the fridge, instantly Shiva's eyes went wide, her ears shot forward and she smelled the food in the fridge, she lunged toward it only to be stopped by a hand to her nose, Shiva growled and Jen pat her on the cheek, Shiva realized she was going to be fed, and licked her jaws, cooing at the thought of fresh meat.
Jen opened the freezer and pulled out a half roast, knowing her stomach could take most of it, she knew this lioness would suck this down, she had to brace herself for a sudden rush of food. Shiva tried to lunge at the roast and Jen stopped her, she growled and again was patted. Shiva's mind put two and two together and she realized whenever her new body touched her head it was going to do something good for her, so she waited. Jen guided Shiva's gaze as she set the oven to bake and put the roast in. Jen started walking away and Shiva moaned, "Oooooh." Jen pet her and walked into the living room, setting down on the couch she turned the t.v. on, hoping she could interest her new head in watching t.v. for a bit while the roast cooked.
Shiva for her part was confused, trying to figure out what this box was she was looking at, while her body continued to pat and stroke her, she couldn't figure out why it was acting like a human would. She did however smell the food that was cooking, and knew a reward for good behavior was coming so she kept quite and let her body do what it wanted. A queen could get used to this. The oven timer went off and Shiva felt her body move again, taking her to the kitchen, putting gloves on and pulling out the thing that smelled wonderful. Then her body started acting really weird, it pulled out a knife and fork, causing a moment of fear, humans had used those around her before and it was never good, but she saw what was happening, she was cutting the meat, her hand raised up a fork and offered the meat. Shiva sniffed, trying to figure out what to do, then she took the offering, finding it even better than raw, and patiently waited for her food to be given to her.
Jen was surprised that a wild, grown, lioness would let her feed it like this, but then, Shiva seemed more tame that what she thought. Maybe something was going on here that Jen couldn't put her finger on. After she fed them, feeling satisfied, if not a little overstuffed, Jen guided them back to the living room, laying back on the couch, where Shiva dozed off. Jen tried to think of how this was going to work long term.
"Damn it. How can I live like this? I can't even talk to Shiva, let alone make this work." Jen thought internally, but she noticed that when she said Shiva's name, her ears perked up. And then it occurred to Jen, they shared a brain, maybe she could still make this animal speak to her inside, she at least needed to try.
