Shortly after they'd unpacked, there was a knock on their door. Mildly confused, John answered it, and was met by a man and woman, each wearing nametags emblazoned with the hotel's logo on it.
They both appeared to be in their late 20's; the woman's name tag read “Alexis:”, and she was dressed in a white blouse top and mid-length black skirt. She had dishwater blonde hair that hung to her shoulders. The man's name tag read “Patrick” and he wore a button down white shirt, with a dark navy tie, along with black dress slacks. His black hair was a short crew cut.
“Hello,” said Alexis. “We're from the hotel; we were told you two were interested in becoming werewolves.” She smiled broadly.
“We're lycanthropy ambassadors. May we come in?” asked the man. “Or would you like some more time settling in?”
“No, no, that's great! Come on in!” Carrie said, leaping off of the edge of the bed excitedly, and opening the door wide. John was a little taken aback. While he knew how much he was into werewolves, he'd always assumed that Carrie had humored him more than anything else.
The pair came inside, each taking a seat in the small living room-style front area of the suite. John and Carrie cozied up on the couch, holding hands and fidgeting slightly in mild anticipation and excitement. “So what exactly IS a lycanthropy ambassador?” John asked.
“We make sure that what YOU want your werewolf experience to be is EXACTLY what you get,” Patrick told them. “And we can answer any question, no matter how intimate it might be.”
Carrie blushed slightly, biting her lip. Her mind seemed to have focused on the word 'intimate'. Alexis smiled knowingly at her.
“So,” Alexis began, pulling out a notepad, “We've learned that a lot of people have a variety of different visions for what werewolves are, and how they behave, and all of that. Sometimes these things aren't entirely compatible with each other, and so we've essentially set up regions in the area so that everyone can have their fun.”
“Isn't that a little difficult?” John asked. “I mean, how many werewolf cartoons have there been?”
“Toon,” Patrick said, making air quotes, “Is a bit of a misnomer. This whole dimension is affected by your drawn artwork. So it's not just animated cartoons, but also the drawn works from artists everywhere, even if they're not widespread and known to a large segment. As you might imagine, this has opened things up quite a bit, in terms of possibility. In the earliest records, new beings and paradigms popped up frequently, leading to a lot of chaos, but now things have settled into certain predictable patterns. There always have been native residents of this dimension, and we've had the good fortune to be...adaptive, thanks to the properties of it. Native residents are indistinguishable from the ones who popped into existence even yesterday, and have spent sometimes generations fitting in and working to shape this place into something anyone can enjoy.”
“Firstly, we'd like to figure out what we call your archetype,” Alexis told them. She barely paused, knowing they'd have questions, seeking to answer them before they were spoken. “Generally speaking, people presume that werewolves have some sort of primary drive once they've transformed. They presume they either seek to transform others, they want sex, or they want to embrace the animal nature-hunting, running, etc. Which archetype do you feel that you'd fit into?”
John and Carrie barely looked at each other for a moment, both smirking before answering simultaneously.
