So it was that a manacled Issac,Marry and Ilvir were led into the Court Room
where the
three bewhigged Judges were to hear their cases.
Slar was nowhere to be seen and although none of the public knew
the solid facts of his fate
most assumed he had been given a new life under the Kings Grace Program
for his secret testimony to King Aeyric the First.
There were the wilder rumours that
he was now a she,but none of the common public knew
for certain.
What everyone did know for certain was that there had been a stunning recent advance
in the revival of the souls of murder
victims in new
ectoplasmic hybrid bodies.
What that meant was that all those
monsters that had previously inhabited
Issac's body had
been offered the deal they couldn't
refuse

As one all the monsters
had accepted the Deal and now awaited in caves,swamps and other
temporary
Witness lodgings till called apon
to testify.
Though none of the revived monsters
had access to
Issac's memories or his vision at
the tome
he allegedly assassinated King Drull
( the forensics teams still hadn't located the murder
weapon the Cloud Hammer)
they certainly could testify
truthfully that
the Corrupted Paladin was the Killer
who had killed each and
every one of them.

So it was the five Judges filed into the noisy
courtroom and asked the
reporters to put away their
magical drawing devices as the flashes
were scaring one of the accused
Ilvir
who had slumped over in a faint .
Finally in came King Aeyric the First
who walked in under heavy guard
and observed the three
prisoners
without emotion.
Issac was now his mere mortal human self again
and he tried to
put on a brave face for the King.
Finally the noise died down and the Court Clerk banged her gavel for attention and a moments
silence in memory of the late
King Druul.
