There were several versions, Chad recalled. One had the wrestlers jacking off on the mat, and making the puttied victim permanently their mat. Another version involved them jacking off, and the mat turning back into a thoroughly humiliated human, who moved away and was never heard from again. Their was a version he heard at summer camp involving the wrestlers pissing into the mat tomrehydrate it and changing the guy back, but they used too much piss, and when he started to walk, he sloshed, and then exploded like a water balloon. Chad realized that he had never really heard the definitive ending of the story. Perhaps no one knew. Todd seemed surprised, albeit way to pleasantly, when he discovered Chad was puttied. So, he probably hadn't been responsible for the spray can, and therefore, wouldn't really know how or whether Chad could change back. Chad wondered if Rick was responsible for the can, if so, the person responsible would know how to reverse it. Rick was Chad's buddy, but he was the relief pitcher on the ball team. With Chad gone, Rick will be starting pitcher, when the season begins in 6 weeks. So even, if Rick knows Chad is a medicine ball, Chad feels pretty certain he will be this way until May or June.
Eventually, Chad falls asleep on the ball rack. He wonders if any of the other medicine balls are puttied people or maybe the floor mats. He had always thought it was an urban legend, not real. He dreams that he is his adult self explaining to kindergarteners about sports, then he realizes that the kindergarteners are 5 year old versions of his team mates, and then the school teacher, who looks like Coach Sinclair in drag says, "Thank you, Chad for that rousing speech. Now class, it's play-doh time!"
Chad wanted to speak, but he suddenly realizes that he's naked. The kids swarm over him. He is the play-doh. Forty kids pound, and reshape forty or fifty different lumps of him. Chad sobs.
"Ooof! There's water on this medicine ball," complained Kurt, after the medicine ball slipped through his fingers and mashed his groin.
"Don't look at me, I just grabbed it from the shelf and tossed it, I didn't spit on it or anything," protested Rick.
Coach Sanchez said, "Wipe the ball off, Kurt. When you two are done wipe the ball dry. Last night, Bruno and Todd worked up quite a sweat practicing with a medicine ball. Don't know if it was that one or not? But I'll remind them to be sure to dry the ball before putting it on the rack."
"Ew!" said Kurt. He grabbed a towel and wiped Chad off and then hurled Chad at Rick.
Chad got quite a workout that morning, nearly a dozen guys tossed him around.
