"Okay Kyle, I'm done with the lawn." Ally looked over at her brother's computer. "Hypnosis, really? You know that stuff doesn't work, right?"
Kyle looked at her like she had grown a second head. I had hypnotized her thirty minutes ago. How did she not remember? Kyle pulled out the hypnosis coin again. "If you don't believe, try watching this coin."
"You know that won't..." her voice trailed off, as she was once again hypnotized.
Man, she was easy to put under! Kyle doubted the coin would work that well on anyone else. Still, he wondered why Ally didn't remember getting hypnotized. He decided to test her about it. "What happened before you mowed the lawn?"
Ally replied in a trance. "We had a nice conversation, and you convinced me to be nicer to you."
Huh, that wasn't what Kyle expected. She remembered being commanded, but not how she was commanded. Still, it was better to be safe than sorry. "Remembering the conversation ruins the fun of hypnosis. You don't need to remember what we talk about when you are hypnotized. That way, we can have fun together."
"I want to have fun when I'm hypnotized. I don't want to remember anything about being hypnotized."
Well, that was one problem sorted out. Kyle wanted to milk this for all it was worth. He remembered the discussion on post-hypnotic triggers. Those were words or events that could make the hypnotized person act weirdly even when they were awake. Adding in some trigger-words would be interesting.
Kyle thought for a second. What was one thing that had always annoyed him about his sister? He had it in an instant. Ally was allergic to dogs, and so their family had never owned one, even though there were non-allergenic breeds available. She would always complain about them whenever she saw one, even if it was very far off. She was probably the biggest dog hater he had met. But now, he had the perfect opportunity for revenge.
"Ally, when you hear the phrase 'Good Girl', what does it remind you of?"
"A dog."
"That's very good Ally. Now whenever you hear the phrase 'Good Girl', it will remind you of a dog. It will remind you of a big, happy dog. In fact, whenever you hear that phrase, it will remind you so much of a dog that you will want to act like a dog."
"Whenever I hear the phrase 'Good Girl' I will want to act like a dog."
"Each time you hear the words 'Good Girl', you will become more of a dog. You will act more and more dog-like each time you hear those words. Do you understand?"
"When I hear the words 'Good Girl' I will become more of a dog."
He decided to add in another trigger, to really let the dogs out.
"When you hear the words 'Good Dog' you will think of a dog. You will think of a big, happy dog. In fact, when you hear the words 'Good Dog' you will become that dog. You will be a big, happy dog."
"When I hear the words 'Good Dog', I will become a big, happy dog."
Kyle couldn't believe this was working. Still, what if Ally found out about this? Well, there was always time for another trigger.
"Now Ally, when you hear the word..." he paused, searching for inspiration. His eyes caught on a long neglected Barbie doll on his sister's dresser. "Ally, when you hear the phrase 'Barbie doll' you will be reminded of your normal teenage life. In fact, you will go back to being a normal teenage girl. You will not remember acting like a dog. You are a girl, you are not a dog. You will forget all about being a dog."
"When I hear the phrase 'Barbie Doll' I will go back to being human, and will forget all about being a dog."
Kyle's palms were starting to get sweaty. This was actually working.
"Alright, Ally tell me one more time what your triggers are."
Ally listed them off like a robot. "Each time I hear the words 'Good Girl' I will act more and more like a dog. When I hear the words 'Good Dog', I go full doggy, but when I hear the words 'Barbie Doll', I forget about being a dog, and turn back into a human."
"Perfect. Okay, Ally, wake up!"
Ally snorted. "I told you hypnosis wasn't real."
Kyle smiled. He couldn't wait to use the triggers.
