Rachel then turned left and Cassie ran to catch up. "What are you doing" she said "this isn't the way to the pancake place". "This is a short cut" she said, leaving a barely noticeable gap between the words short and cut, "will you go along with it?" Rachel asked. "I suppose" Cassie said in response. As they went round the corner a hairdressers came into sight. "Give me a second" Rachel said to Cassie, she then entered the hairdressers and after a lengthy conversation with the hairdresser came back out and asked Cassie to come in, which she did, she was slightly nervous though as she hadn't had a haircut in 4 years and wasn't used to the place. The hairdresser walked up to her and said with the sort of voice one would use to talk to a child "hi Cassie, your sister there said that you need a haircut" Cassie looked shocked and at that point Rachel came up to her and whispered "transform or dare?". Cassie quickly answered dare, having learned that transform was usually considerably worse. "Right then, your dare is to go along with everything the hairdresser says" Rachel responded. The hairdresser then said "sit down here, Rachel here has already said what needs to be done" Cassie couldn't help but comply. The hairdresser sat her down and put on a cape, she then undid the pigtails. She then sectioned of a finge and cut it way too short for anyone over the age of nine, it was at least two inches above her eyebrows. Taking the scissors again she made quick work of Cassie's waist length hair, cutting it off at the chin. At this point Cassie was crying, "don't worry, it'll look great, and you won't have to worry about it getting in your face at the playground!". She continued cutting, when she finished she turned to Rachel "there you go, a short bob, just short enough to not let a ponytail but long enough for pigtails, as long as they're high though". Rachel grinned "great" she said "she looks so cute, can you put the hair in pigtails please?". The hairdresser took the hair ties from earlier and put the hair into (very short) pigtails and put a pink ribbon on each in the shape of a bow. Cassie was still crying so the hairdresser turned around to Rachel and asked is she had a pacifier, Rachel replied she had left it at home so the hairdresser got one from behind the counter and put it in Cassie's mouth. "On the house" she said with a smile.
